Every year, thousands of internet and filmmaking rock stars and rock-star-rock-stars gather in Austin, Texas for South by Southwest, the interactive, film, and music conference that originally began as a music festival in the late 80s. Today it’s a big deal, bringing the biggest names in the industry together with everyday people for a mixing of the minds– a delicious burrito full of culture and fun.

As a way to say thanks to all the fabulous people who are here for the conference, we’re throwing a party on Friday, March 9 at 7-9pm at Oil Can Harry’s -the- hottest gay bar with the cutest guys and gals.

Come meet me, Fausto Fernós, Marc Felion and a bunch of internet rock stars having a great time knocking down the drinks.

Bring a camera and your iPhone, these things usually get wild.

Fausto will be a guest on the Outside The Loop Third Anniversary Party/Show Taping at Toons Bar and Grill on Friday, November 20. Come on down and catch a live taping of OTL! It’s FREE to get in and they’ll be giving away lots of WLUW and OTL merchandise. It all starts at 8:00 p.m.!

Other guests on the show will include Mick Dumke, writer and editor at the Chicago Reader, the Parking Ticket Geek, THE expert on all things parking related in Chicago and Andrea Newberry, local food blogger at Forkable.

If you can’t attend the taping, the show will air at 10am on Thanksgiving on WLUW.

Summer is in full swing folks and we’re heading up to the Beer Capital of the World, Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Pridefest 2008!

Believe it or not, Marc and I are actually hosting the Saturday night prime time lineup and from the looks of things it’s going to be a wild, celebrity filled ride. Tracy Tyler will be singing our funny version of “I Am Woman” and Amanda Steinstein will be singing the theme to Star Trek. Sal-E and Teri Yaki will be working the stage in miraculous new ways. Plus music by Britney Houston and Hilary McRae.

Did I mention Natasha Bedingfield (Unwritten, Sunshine in My Pocket) will be the featured musical act? Fireworks too. It’s going to be hot.

Sal-E Has been busy applying rhinestones and glittler to his face since he left Chicago. They almost didn’t let him board the plane he was so crazy looking. Then at the Airport, tons of commotion happens when Miss Ronnie spots a young porn star incognito and asks him if in fact he is who she thinks he is, and will he talk with us for the show.
