All eyes and ears were on the ladies at this year’s Grammys as they dominated the top awards.

Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint on the red carpet with her purple sparkly dress created in collaboration with Giorgio Armani.

She later opened the show in a fairy green getup with matching boots. In a wink-wink to her gay fans, Gaga sported pink triangles over her eyes to symbolize gay pride.

Although Gaga was the queen of fashion, Beyoncé ruled the awards ceremony with a record-breaking six wins by a female in one night, including best female pop performance and song of the year for “Single Ladies.”

Snip, snip! or is it snap, snap?

In March of 2009, hairstyling expert Tabatha Coffey marched into Chicago Male hair salon to help save the struggling business at the invitation of the owner Scott Neesham .

What did she find? An absentee owner with a poor business model, who put his salon in the hands of an ineffective manager and unprofessional staff.

Hell to experience, but fabulous to watch as a TV show.

If only Tabatha could do the same for all the other struggling businesses in Boystown.

Oh Kanye! In a bold move, typical of the musician, Kanye West rushed the stage at the Video Music Awards and grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift as she was giving her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. Kayne took over the stage to give props to Beyonce’s viral hit “Single Ladies,” describing it as one of the best videos of all time and implying that it should have won. The audience booed him for stealing Taylor’s glory as both Beyonce and Taylor looked on in shock at Kayne’s actions. Kanye was asked to leave.

Eventually everything turned out alright- Beyonce’s Single Ladies did win the top prize of Video of the Year and the ever gracious Beyonce shared the moment on stage with Taylor Swift who finally got to finish her speech.

Kanye quickly apologized in person to Swift and also on his blog, IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS:

“I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!”

We have a special guest, Mike Rogers, the editor of PageOneQ and BlogActive. Mike tells us about his latest outing of closeted republican Lt. Governor André Bauer of South Carolina. The rumors that Lieutenant Governor is gay have been around for a while but now, Mike says he has the confirmations he needed to come forward.

Some people don’t like the concept of outing but, Mike’s motto is simple- you don’t get enjoy the perks of being in the closet if you are an anti-gay politician. It’s more about exposing hypocrisy rather than uncovering the details of someone’s sex life.

I was looking for some photos that would show a gayer side of the Lt. Gov but David Dust already put together a compelling photo collection.

Out of these fires of censorship emerged the Feast of Fools podcast. Before the word “podcasting” was declared as 2005′s Word of the Year by the Oxford University Dictionary, this show was just and an audio enclosure attached to a blog. Nobody, including the Superbowl has ever been the same since.

But, yawn! What a borrrring Superbowl! Not the game itself which was OK, but everything else, the shows and the commercials which is the really important stuff. This year’s event was the blandest in recent years and went without a hitch or a awkward moment to draw it’s hypnotized audiences back into reality. Where was this year’s equivalent to last year’s gay kiss?

It was weird to see celebrities being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest on their own “red carpet” as a way of trying to glamorize the event. Reuters reported that that the actual red carpet they talked to celebrities on lead nowhere and that was a half mile from the stadium in a beer-soaked parking lot. What a joke! Until the NFL gets superstud Tom Brady to wear a ball gown and parade down that red carpet, I’m not buying it. Like yellow brick roads, red carpets should always lead somewhere.

Why doesn’t the NFL put out their own “Gods of the Stadium” calendar?
We could use an American version of the famous French calendar that features hot soccer studs in the buff. If we can handle Brittany’s beaver shots, we can handle hot famous muscular athletes being photographed naked in sexually ambiguous poses.

Tom Petty’s and Alicia Keyes’ musical performances were great. But Paula Abdul’s awkward song montage in the Superbowl Pre-Show was really bad. Her lip-syncing rivaled wasted queens at your local drag review and her dance moves were awful. One of her crazy moves looked like she was trying to “air out her cooter.”

I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or just an attempt to explain away her slurry behavior, but today it was also revealed that Paula was in a plane mishap in 1993 that caused her to have several back surgeries and drop out of pop music for half a decade.

Did you think Paula’s music career took “two steps forward, or two steps back” with this performance?

Rock stars should retire the phrase “Let me hear you say yeah!” I could have sworn that Alicia Keyes, Paula Abdul and Tom Petty all said it at the Superbowl last night. Did the cue card guy run out of card-stock and just recycle his signs?

Then again, how else can you get a crowd to all say “Yeah!” on cue? Come on everybody say yeah. She loves you yeah, yeah yeah. Twist and shout, yeah yeah yeah. I said, yeah, mony mony… Is yeah here to stay?
