If you were in Chicago in the 90s, you probably know Circuit Mom, the queen of the circuit party scene.

Circuit parties were fun-filled extravagant affairs that leveraged the existing gay rave scene into fundraisers for healthcare organizations. Guys who liked to go to circuit parties were sometimes called circuit boys and Matthew Harvart was their Momma!

About six years ago, Circuit Mom stepped out of the limelight to focus on other aspects of her entertainment career. At the same time the Hearts Foundation, the non-profit that hosted Chicago’s biggest circuit party called “Fireball” went down in flames after financial mismanagement and drug abuse.

Since then, the circuit scene has never been quite the same in Chi-town but that hasn’t stopped Circuit Mom from performing and throwing fantastic parties- just like Cher, it’s hard to keep a good queen down.

Today, Matthew Harvat, the man behind Circuit Mom talks about the fabulous circuit party scene that once was and may still be again.

People are outraged that one of their favorite drag queens, the hilarious Pandora Boxx was booted from the reality TV show, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Although the judges loved her comedy, they didn’t always like her style and often gave conflicting or erratic criticism of the way she presented herself.

In her last challenge, the contestants were forced to give makeovers to what appeared to be homeless older gay men, making them their drag mother.

During the runway segment where Pandora and her drag mother performed, Pandora was criticized for allowing her older drag protege to outshine her, and for that, she went up for elimination and lost. But don’t cry for Pandora Boxx, she may have been let go from the show, but her future looks brighter than ever.

The Mimi Imfurst Interview - photos by Gerry Visco and others

In 2005, the Catholic Advocacy Coalition named New York City drag queen Mimi Imfurst one of the top ten anti-Catholic people because of her hilarious Christmas show in which she portrays Jesus’ mother Mary as a 2,000 year old sassy diva. She beat out George W. Bush to come in second on the list and resulting in over 600 people protesting her show in New York City’s Times Square.

But it hasn’t always been sunshine, lollypops and crucifixes for Mimi. As a teenager, Braden Chapman was left homeless by his homophobic family and forced to work the mean streets of Portland, Maine to survive. Thankfully, a generous lesbian couple adopted Brenden to help him get through the tough time and helps him realize anything in life is possible.

He was eventually adopted by a lesbian couple, but getting through the tough times she encountered as a teen made her realize that anything in life is possible .

Peaches Christ’s debut film “All About Evil” is getting rave reviews, with many declaring the comedic bloodfest an instant cult classic. People can’t wait to see it and groups demanding the film be brought to their town are popping up all over Facebook.

Drag queen Lady Vera Parker moved to Chicago with the hopes of making it big as an entertainer. Last week, her dreams were dashed when she was pulled over in U-Haul truck she allegedly stole in Kentucky. When the police pulled up her record they found a laundry list of check fraud and deception warrants. She’s now being held in Cook County Prison awaiting trial.

What happened? On today’s show we’re talking to Kevin Pipkins, best known as Chicago drag queen Teri Yaki.

Kevin’s worked with the now infamous Lady Vera Parker and is here to explain in detail, what, to the best of his knowledge, happened and what the future holds for this John Waters villain come to life.
