Everyone in Austin has a crazy, sexual story about Texas state governor and former republican presidential candidate Rick Perry.

People of all political affiliations hate this guy, so there’s a lot of pressure to come up with dirt on him even before he ran “Strong” his anti-gay campaign ad and YouTube’s most hated video.

Are any of the rumors true, or is this just a way people handle corrupt, sleazy leaders like Perry?

Joining us is talk show host Stephen Rice, who has been anchoring OutCast Austin, KOOP’s local community LGBT radio program for over three years.

Stephen recently interviewed Republican Robert Morrow who ran the infamous “Have You Ever Had Sex with Rick Perry?” ad in the Austin Chronicle and Glenn Maxey, the state’s first openly gay representative about the governor’s secret sex life.

On World AIDS Day, Obama Gets an D+. Now technically, is that passing grade? Today we’re taking a look on the day after World AIDS Day at how the world is dealing with dealing with HIV and AIDS.

We met Summer Nettles at a haunted house this past Halloween and fell in love. boy did we have some Summer lovin’. Summer brings her unique perspective as a talk radio personality and producer to Chicago’s 1035 Kiss FM.

She’s on today’s show talking about how she handles all the celebrity guests that come to her station and how she wooed the fabulous Wendy Williams to come in and tape an interview.

In college, Summer was involved with Snowball, a peer group advocating safer sex. It’s unusual name came from the hopes that the group would have a snowball effect, encouraging others to use protection. Luckily the Urban Dictionary wasn’t around back then, or they’d have to rename the group. Looks it up kids.

Summer’s had her own close encounters with STD’s of the third kind and is happy to talk about how angels or was it aliens, warned her off having sex with an ex-boyfriend.

Listen as we take a look at the tragic murder of 19 year old Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado of Puerto Rico who was brutally killed and dismembered. His killer has confessed to the crime and is citing “gay panic” as his defense.

Radio has always been a lifeline for people in peril. During the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, the only way the public could get access to life saving information was by turning on the radio. And not the big fat cat radio stations, but the low wattage local radio stations.

Someone found a letter you wrote me, on the radio. Radio killed the video star. Turn up, the radio. If you write a song about the radio chances are it will be played by some indulgent disc jockey. Especially if you say how hot the DJ is or that last night they saved your life.

Where is the “ode to the podcast” song? You hear me? If you really want your music played all over the net, write a song about how hot podcasters are.

On today’s show two hot local DJ’s from our weekly community GLBT radio program “Think Pink Radio” Erik Roldan and Ruth Batacan join us to talk about the future of community based radio and how they decide what type of music to play on the air. What makes queer music queer? If a hetero artist is really popular with the gays, do they play the music anyways?

Things aren’t so pink for Think Pink Radio. They might lose their weekly slot at WLUW when Loyola University, who owns the radio station plans to take over management and perhaps reintegrate the programming into it’s curriculum.

Calpernia Addams hit single “Stunning” is becoming such a hit, with a little help from us, that even Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is taken by it.

After Tuesdays comeback in the PP, the Presidential Primaries, Hillary’s campaign sent a mass email describing her comeback as “STUNNING.”

Coincidence, who knows, but Calpernia herself doesn’t mind. We wrote to Cali and her response was “[Hillary] can use it if she wants. She’s pretty stunning, in that ‘iron-willed old bitch I think is cool’ kinda way.”
