At the height of American regional television from the 60s to the 80s, many local channels in had their own wonderfully unique christian puppet shows featuring female comedians. Many women developed ventriloquist dummy acts as a way to express themselves in religions that didn’t allow them to become preachers.

And of course, these demented puppets absolutely loved Christmas.

Few people manage to capture the elusive commercial success that comes with making Christmas music, but it sure doesn’t stop them from trying.

Seems easy enough- throw a little jingle bells to a beat, add some “ho, ho, hos” and slap a snowflake on it. Why is it so hard to create a Christmastime classic?

Today we continue our annual holiday series: “Incredibly Strange Christmas Music, vol. 3″- oddball holiday songs few have ever heard but we think deserve a second listen.

Too bad Santa Yoda did not get his own song in Christmas in the Stars.

Even George Lucas tried to tie his sleigh to the spirit of the season but got stuck in a blizzard of a confusingly hilarious musical creations.

I know it’s too early for Christmas music but who can resist a claymation Beiber can you? Oh, you can?

Of all the live podcast forums we’ve done with Lifelube, one of the best received was Tunnel of Love, where people probed deeply and asked anything they wanted from sex experts and doctors about their booty.

But as gay men, our sex lives are about a whole lot more than just butt love. A new gay sex study conducted by researchers at Indiana University and George Mason University had some interesting findings- most notably that butt sex isn’t as common as you think, that only 37.2% of participants claimed to have had anal intercourse as their last sexual activity.

What’s the most common sexual activity? Kissing: 74.5%. The second-most popular?: oral sex (72.7%), followed by partnered masturbation (68.4%).

Another interesting result of the study was that nearly 40% of guys said their behavior occurred with someone they were in a committed relationship with or at least dating.

As many colors are in the rainbow, our sex lives and desires are just as diverse and complicated in some very exiting ways.

Mysteriously, Jim and his boyfriend Dylan have received over 400 letters addressed to Santa at their apartment in Chelsea so now they have to decide just exactly how they are going to deal with the challenge.

I use to work with the blond guy in this story, Jim, before he moved to NYC. He’s absolutely one of the funniest people I know and his drag is 100% pure trash and his other characterizations are equally outrageous. I’ll never forget the time I was chipping ice that was wrapped in a cloth with hammer for a caviar display and Jim comes running by and says in his best hillbilly voice “Kill the rat, kill the rat, momma!” Boy did I lose it.

Jim use to bring into the bar where we worked a video of him on “The Price is Right” with Bob Barker. Everyone loved watching him win big at Plinko. I do wish he’d put it up on Youtube.

John Toomey, best known for 20 years at the Union Square Macy’s in San Francisco as “Santa John,” was told Saturday he’ll have to take his “ho, ho, hos” elsewhere because an adult couple complained about a joke he cracked.

But sir, it's Christmas!

You have to have the patience of a saint to play St. Nick anywhere, especially in an urban area. Actor John Toomey was popular with adults and children alike, mostly because he joked around with the adults asking them if they had been naughty or nice. His crime was to make things fun for everyone.

“When I ask the older people who sit on my lap if they’ve been good and they say, ‘Yes,’ I say, ‘Gee, that’s too bad,’ ” said John after being fired.

“Then, if they ask why Santa is so jolly, I joke that it’s because I know where all the naughty boys and girls live.”

According to MSNBC, the kids who sit on his lap, get only his trademark laugh and questions about what toys they want.

Some angry, uptight couple didn’t appreciate his off color humor and complained to the department store, who quickly fired the guy. John is appealing the decision in the meanwhile, living in a hotel on Market Street.

Perfect for the holidays! A drunk Santa is caught on a surveillance camera relieving himself, collapsing onto a car and frightening unsuspecting elevator riders. It’s probably fake but it sure is fun.

Christmas is so bizarre- the loud colors, the strange rituals and the omnipotent bearded Santa all lend a special psychedelic flavor to the winter months. A science fiction writer couldn’t come up with stranger holiday.

Hilarious! A drunk man dressed up as Santa got out of the car he was riding, went over to some kids asking where his reindeer were.

Says 9-year old Katie Dockerty: “He was drunk. He smelled like alcohol so I knew it wasnt the real santa. because Santa doesn’t drink alcohol.”

Police arrested the driver of the car for drunk driving, but the man dressed as Santa, 55-year-old Thomas Arnold was given a ticket for having an “open intoxicant” in the car. He was released at the scene.

Dance performer Todd Kiech, better known as Hot Toddy is throwing a “Xmas Burlesque” show 8pm, December 15 at Scarlet bar in Chicago. The show features The Stagedoor Johnnies, Frenchie Kiss, Fanny Tastic, Vicki Syn, and Hosted by Miss Omicah.

He says he’s “back from Vegas” to show Chicago a good time. Not sure what he was doing in Las Vegas, but I’m sure it had something to do with the movie “Showgirls” if you know what I mean.

According to his MySpace page, Toddy may be 45 years old, but from these photos of him in his satin satan suit, he’s got buns of steel.

How disappointing! The New York State Senate voted to reject Marriage Equality, leaving the majority of people in the state who support the bill wondering- who are they representing? Why the hate?

But it’s not all bad news- Family Ties star Meredith Baxter comes out of the closet as a woman loving woman, ignoring the advice from her gal pal Rupert Evert to keep her lezzie loving ways a secret, since openly gay actors have a harder time finding work in Hollywood.

Although Christmas is days away, Europeans are getting read to celebrate St. Nick’s Day, where the good kids get candy, and the bad kids get coal or even taken away by Krampus, a demonic looking figure with fur, horns and a long pink tongue.

Marc’s friend Solitaire Miles joins us to give us the scoop on Santa’s Satanic-looking sidekick.
