Charles wants to call you “Sir.” On today’s show we have queer indie rocker Charles S McVey to play for us. Listen as Charles seduces you in his distinctively gravely voice. We’re sure you’ll appreciate his open and honest lyrics.
We’re also joined by his hot drummer Erik Kessinger and his shy but sexy bassist, Steve Bagwell who round out this fantastic trio from Lawrence, Kansas. We joke that Lawrence is the heart of the liberal Midwest, but it is a liberal college town and there is some good music in the town. This group is happy to call themselves “townies.”
Having two straight men in your band might make you feel like the only gay in the village, but Charles and his band mates represent a whole new generation of queer indie music in which straight men are happy to partake.
They are hitting both the straight and gay venues all over the Midwest, bringing bold, honest songs about desire and submissiveness to crowds who may not at first be receptive but wind up becoming dedicated fans.
Join us as we talk about common mistakes people make in engineering their own music, bridging the gap between straight and queer music, the mainstreaming of leather and why straight men are probably as afraid of getting a girl pregnant as gay men are about contracting a sexually transmitted disease.
PLUS! Charles plays for us three of his songs from his album “Modern Living” unplugged and raw in the home studio.
Isn’t he cute? Here’s a sexy photo of Charle’s incredibly rocking drummer Erik Kessinger, posing for me in a leather sling after their hot set last Friday at Jackhammer, as part of the Flesh Hungry Dog Show.
This photo reminds me of some publicity shots hunky actor Chris Evans took a couple of years ago to promote his upcoming appearance in a Fantastic Four movie. Although the look resembles like he’s stay up way too late looking at bad porn.

With the music theme and your talk about the bass player, I couldn’t resist sharing one of my favorite jokes.
