Who doesn’t like fireworks? Instead of having one major fireworks display from Grant Park, the City of Chicago decided to have three smaller ones along the lake — near Montrose Beach, around 63rd Street Beach and at Navy Pier. Most people agreed it made for a much more dazzling display visible from all around the city.
One personal highlight for me was seeing people leaving the lake amid the confusion and smoke. It made for some eerie photos, right out our favorite TV shows like the X-Files or Supernatural.

Here is an airplane flying into the fireworks! Yeow.
Sounds awesome. Wish I could have seen this lingering smoke coming from the shore. Sounds like it helped split up the crowds as well. Way to go Chi-town.
