I’m sad to say that all the news from “Lake Titicaca” isn’t so good. A Michigan student has been suspended for wearing the words “I’m Straight” on his t-shirt on the GLBT Day of Silence to announce to everyone he was straight. Now why would a school teacher kick a kid out for wearing that? Plus, I think if you have to wear a shirt that says you’re straight, you’re probably not. It’s almost like wearing a “don’t tell my boyfriend I’m gay” tshirt.
My guess is that the conservative news source that is reporting the story is distorting the facts in order to make it appear as if Christians are being persecuted. Now why would anyone hate people who hate gays? Thanks to Brad for the tip!
Everyone is suing over one reason or another these days. First, a Canadian woman is suing a Chinese furniture company for psychological trauma after she found out the color of the couch she ordered was labeled “n-word” brown. (Check out the wikipedia entry for the word, it’s very interesting.) She had relatives in from out of town and they wouldn’t even sit on it. The couch just sat there in the room like a…. ahem.. white elephant. Please do pardon the pun.
Secod, in Bentonville, Arkansas a father is demanding the city pay him $20,000 for “pain and suffering” as well as many “sleepless nights” for exposing his sons to lesbian sex after discovering a book at their local library. I think the many sleepless nights come from thinking about hot girl-on-girl action, not angst-ridden folk singers camping out in Michigan talking about “gender” and “notions of gender” and “the process of gender” and “what gender means to my cats” which I bet you could sue for and win big. Just kidding, we love playing with gender at FoF as long as it’s fun and any hurt is consensual.

Congrats to you Ms. Ronnie! Seems that great accomplishments are going around this week! I completed my first 80 mile training ride for the Aids LifeCycle this past Saturday with only a minor scrape to the knee (I fell about 5 miles from the finish)! Now I get to do that (minus injury) for 7 days in a row the first week of June when the REAL ride happens! San Francisco to LA baby!
I have a silly question: If you were to get a couch that was “offensive” because of the tag, why not #1- Send the damn thing back or #2- Remove the tag and just “grab some air” and let it go. It’s a COUCH people!
