Chicago is a city full of diversity, but is it a segregated diversity? In the Uptown neighborhood you can find many people speaking languages from all around the world. It’s also next door to one of the largest gay and predominantly white neighborhoods in America, Lakeview. Is it “Ebony & Ivory, living in perfect harmony” or just “Strangers in the Night, exchanging glances?”
Today we’re talking to Terrence Chappell the fashion editor for UR Chicago’s Online Magazine, nightlife reporter for Boi magazine and editor-at-large for Pretty Boy Magazine, a new a lifestyle quarterly aimed towards young men, launching June 26.
Terrence joins us to chat about about bringing our worlds together and how we can embrace diversity inside our own community.

I only have three issues with Madonna adopting a girl from Malawi, and I don’t have any problem acknowledging her fame, her talent and her persona, but:
1) why do a lot of people stress through burocracy and wait a loooong time before being able to adopt kids, but Madonna just because she’s famous, have a lot of money and acquaintances can adopt as easy as snapping her fingers. Isn’t by-passing laws and rules like that involving a lot of bribery. Why should she be privileged in front of the law?
2) I am not sure that all her donations will be used to give a better chance or life to all those orphans remaining in Malawi or construct a better Malawi. I suppose a big part of that money will be sucked by not that much honest self interested profiteers that have no intention to help the people of Malawi.
3) what is wrong with american orfans? What is wrong with local product? I am sure a lot of local orphan kids are as badly treated and are as poor. Don’t they deserve as much love or even a chance? Or is it a question of exotic product she must have?
That song is so awesome!
It reminds me of the voice of Victoria Jackson from SNL.
I like it too- I just wish it was on iTunes so we could really help make it the runaway smash summer hit song it deserves to be.
I ended up AudioHijacking it )=
