The internet is still buzzing with this past weekend’s hottest event in town, the big gay wedding of American Idol finalist Jim Verraros and former ice skating champion Bill Brennan.

Didn’t get to go? Don’t worry! Today we’re taking you behind the scenes on the fabulous ceremony, the flowers, the family and the over the top ice sculptures.

Yes people, love is real.

Marc and I were pleasantly surprised when almost everyone we met at the wedding asked us when we were getting married. After all, isn’t this what most straight couples go through? We think it was pretty awesome, and glad the wedding, legal or not helped to expand people’s perceptions and make them expect the commonplace of same-sex unions. Way to go Jim & Bill!

shareToday we’re joined by the very funny comedian Bill Cruz, who’s been trying to quit smoking and pick up a healthier lifestyle.

Being fit is great, but are we victim’s of unrealistic body images? The backbone of the gay advertising industry is hot men with the physiques of professional athletes but there is also a segment that features very thin male models, which prompts us to ask- are we pushing our young gay men into man-orexia?

Can you be too thin, too rich or too funny?

the “hot guy in Lousiana” link doesn’t work.

I’m 6 feet tall and 135 pounds.. it is sooooo annoying when people tell me I’m too skinny and I need to gain weight. I am happy with my body if I wasn’t I’d be changing it.

I would first support two things to start off health care reform: Bringing health care insurance across state lines so you get competition. Other states only have 1 or 2 insurance providers which lead to higher costs. Insurance companies must exceed the laws of the state or the federal government in the state they do business in.

Second thing is if your premiums go up more than 5 percent a year, benefits must rise 1/5th the increase. So if your prescription drug benefit is 1500 a year, it would rise up 15.00 if your premiums increase 5 percent. If an insurance company raises your premium 25 percent a year all your benefits would rise 5 percent.

I may not be on the same page as the single payer option people at the moment, but I think things can get better.

And marc and fausto, how about seeing about having BOI magazine have you edit a page on their magazine. Make the magazine better

It’s funny, i was just talking to my BFF last night about how the current crop of LGBT citizens has completely forgotten what it took for us to get the rights that we take for granted. To get everyone geared up and excited about the March on Washington in October I think that we should organize a ‘Bar Raid” night where they cover all the windows up, make us sneak into the bars and then have it raided by the cops…then everyone will appreciate the freedom that we take for granted.

How much should we charge people for the “experience”? $20 a person, maybe $50…I’d pay that much.

As Bill said, 30 years was not that long ago…..

I’m 6′ 1″, 150 pounds and its just as emotionally damaging being made fun of for being thin.

Dragon*Con was a blast this year! Y’all should come down for it sometime — there’s a whole track just for podcasting.

I was rather surprised by Bill’s reaction to the Thriller Dance news piece. I thought all Mexicans got excited about men wearing masks and entertaining crowds! ;)

Hey Guys, great show – FYI Oprah *is* moving (at least some) of her operations to LA – my bro-in-law is a construction consultant working on the project – have y’all heard of OWN (Oprah World Network)? http://postcards.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2009/01/05/oprah-gears-up-for-her-new-venture/

  7. Just a quick side note regarding hot Louisiana boy…totally looked him up on MySpace and get this…he claims to be straight! Plus, if you glance through his pics…he is a total redneck! Shocker! I figured someone that cute would already be out of the closet :) Maybe I should break down his closet door.
