FOF #1211 – Raise the Cup Up High

Jun 24, 2010 · 17983 views

Chicago’s Pride Parade is just days away, and this year the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Cubs are joining in on the gay fun.

Blackhawk defense-man Brent Sopel will be marching along with his wife and kids and the coveted Stanley Cup as guests of the Chicago Gay Hockey Association.

Although the Cubs’ home field is located on the edge of Boystown, this is the first year that someone representing the actual team will be in the parade. Obviously a change in the ownership of the team to a family with a lesbian member finally made it happen.

Blogger Michael Lehet joins us to talk about all things Twilight- from tent cities forming around a theater in anticipation of the next film to actor Robert Pattinson’s blood line to the real Count Dracula. He also gives an update on the Racist Kitty and posts his video response to our Lady Vera Parker Impersonation video- “Will the Real Lady Vera Parker Please Stand Up.” You gotta see it.

We also have a special treat for you – Deven Green takes us behind the scenes of the reality TV show “From Inedible to Incredible!”

Plus, Lady Gaga is teaming up with German scientist Gunther Von Hagens-Dazs to spice up the set of her Monster Ball Tour with his specially preserved dead bodies.

Jackie Hoffman’s Alejandro parody features a lot of Broadway hunks.

I remember when I was a young little queer, my dad and step-mom always took us kids to Cedar Point. They worked at a Whirlpool factory, and the company always had a Whirlpool Day where the employees would take their families. One year it lined up with Cedar Point’s gay day, I’ve never felt so awkward in my life as 12 year old!

Sorry this comment is super late, but I’m listening to this podcast right now and something you guys talked about is bothering me a little bit. Rickets is actually indicative of a deficiency of Vitamin D, which is important for bone structure and mineralization. The disease caused by a Vitamin C deficiency is called scurvy, and that’s the one that can be cured with limes and other citrus fruits. Sorry to be so nit picky! But as a student studying nutrition, I just couldn’t help myself. Love the podcast as always though, and let me know if you need any more nutrition knowledge :)

my tweet didn’t go to the feed…”If I can’t kill it, it is immortal” as a slogan for Miss Foozy’s abortion clinic chain is about the funniest thing I have ever heard on the show! I was walking down the street at 6am and when you said that I laughed out loud and think I may have woken up half of San Francisco.
