Remember pointing to your wrist to ask for the time or a time when bandages came in only one skin color? The Beloit College Mindset List, an index of cultural experiences that shape the lives of students entering college for the first time was just released.

Join us as Blogger Michael Lehet walks with us down memory lane and shares his amazing story of self-pleasure from a second story window at the gym.

  1. Me says:

Okay, Fausto, Marc is right. $150K is not 1/8 a million. If $250K is a quarter million then half that, $125K, is 1/8 million. Still doesn’t make the donation right.

  2. Andy says:

Just don’t shop at those giant stores and support local businesses. Those chains are usually always more expensive too.

Have a good workout, Michael. Maybe you can show us some results in some months. 馃檪

  3. Michael says:

I’m still a little bit sad about the Skinwich, perhaps KFC will come through and make it anyway!

  4. mododavid says:

Fausto, you correct about the tea. Antioxidants are not small, hydrophilic molecules necessarily. Lots of them are really big and kinda hydrophobic. Squeezing the excess from the bag increases the antioxidant concentration in your cup.

  5. mododavid says:

…They are also typically colored. The darker the wine or tea, the more antioxidants. So, good job reducing (opposite of oxidizing) yourself. 馃槈

  6. What a fun show, and such a lovely song by Matt Alber at the end! Michael Lehet is a wonderful guest! I laughed at your representation of my laughter (how 脿 propos!) and appreciate the comparison with Maya Angelou! Your retelling of the restaurant dinner conversation next to you was really hilarious.

And speaking about chicken skin sandwiches, I was just at The Gorbals, an incredibly fun restaurant in Los Angeles, California, where the terribly creative chef Ilan Hall (of Top Chef TV fame) serves bacon-wrapped matzoh balls and yes, fried chicken skin! (his menu rotates, it was available early this month). My friend Ernie Chavez and I didn’t order the fried chicken skin, but we totally enjoyed the beef tongue confit with tomatillo salsa and the bacon-wrapped matzoh balls with mustard aioli, not to mention the scrumptuous cornish hen!!!!

Here’s a link to The Gorbals, located in the lobby of the historic Alexandria Hotel in downtown LA (just make sure not to jaywalk! I got the most horrible ticket for $180 just for crossing the street when the light was green…):

It’s a welcoming tapas (small plate) restaurant, where you can go and don’t have to order a huge amount (in other words, it’s OK if you’re on a budget!).

    Love ya guys!!!
