FOF #1311 – The World’s First Glitter Day

Jan 14, 2011 · 20485 views

Faramir and his friends in Italy get into the spirit of Glitter Day. Don't ask me what they are sucking on.

Glitter Day, the world’s first LGBT centric winter holiday came and went without hitch in most parts of the world- fabulous folks from Italy, New Zealand, Denmark, Germany and even glittery San Francisco celebrated the holiday in style, with friends and tons of fucking sequins.

Sadly, it was also the same day as the horrific shootings in Arizona that left a nation in mourning and wondering the extent that violent political rhetoric had on the tragedy.

Today’s our first show of the new year, so lets make it count folks. Film maker Kerthy Fix joins us to take a look at some of the more extraordinary news and spread the word about her new documentary Strange Powers, an in-depth look at the eccentric songwriter Stephen Meritt and the Magnetic Fields.

Plus the hot news-

Sarah Palin’s Best Speech Ever

For the first time, Dick gets ejected from the adult video awards.

Self-identified sex addict David Duchonvy says he’d go gay for anyone in Twilight.

Real-life Simpsons with a sexy twist

The roller coaster ride of Ted Williams. Should we all just say to hell with it and smoke some crack?

Uh oh, I’d better watch my back going down the stairs now, shouldn’t I?

And yes, Kerthy, I’m personally convinced that everyone worth knowing has to move to or at least visit New Zealand once. We have a spare room and some couches to crash on, if y’all need ‘em. ;)

  2. GarpinBC says:

Kerthy’s comparison of Sarah Palin to Hilary Clinton in the 90s hit the nail on the head.

Is Arthur C. Clarke really shctuping little brown boys in Sri Lanka?

  3. Andy says:

Glad you are back with a new show. :-)

I was surprised when you mentioned one of my best friends on the show. I told all my friend about Glitter Day and that they should celebrate it, unfortunately I could not take part as I had to stay in bed for some times due to influenza. :( He took the picture with Berlin’s most popular and well known drag queen, Nina Queer.

Everyone who visits Berlin should see Nina Queer, she has her own bar with different shows and events. Maybe you can interview her one day.

    Hey boys,
So glad to hear that the break was reviving & that your Glitter Day was relaxing. I love to hear how everything is always going. I’m sorry to hear about the website; I thought it was just my internet connection. Don’t let flakey webmasters get you down, it just means we’ll save our Fresh posts for later. =v)
