Thanks for the update about the fagbug. Back in 2007 I thought it did not make sense what she did. I was wondering why she did not just remove the word fag from her VW Beetle and move on. But I changed my mind. Now I consider her tour with the fagbug as brave and an effective way to draw people’s attention to hateful attacks the LGTB community still has to deal with.
As much as I appreciate Facebook, it is a pity that people comment, write mostly on Facebook these days. One just has to look at the comment section of the 2007 show and one can directly notice that during that time Facebook was not that popular. Would be nice to see more people again writing comments here instead on Facebook.
One of the challenges in commenting on blogs is that people have a hard time keeping track of everything, now that there’s more fighting for our attention. One thing we’re trying to do is implement new technologies on FOF to encourage people to comment and return to follow up.
So stay tuned! Lots of exciting new stuff happening hopefully in the next two months.
heh, 2007 seemed so long ago…I went back and found the comment I made..nothing really constructive, but while I gave a positive comment at the same time I remember being a little skeptical of what she was doing, part of me felt that she should have just let it go and moved on, but is is nice to see that what she has done since then, and has raised some awareness about hate crimes committed against folks in the GLBT community…
