and oh boy Dan Savage, he always seems to put his foot in his mouth doesn’t he? I guess my biggest problem with Savage is that he’ll stand up in support for the gays, calling out homphobes and so forth, but then he goes and says bigoted things towards the trans/bi/asexual community, but then in other situations says things in support for them, so he’s a bit confusing. Also, he has this kind of attitude that he is never in the wrong for the offensive things he says, someone in the comments of that news article pt it in better words, “The main problem with Dan Savage is that he never wants to apologize for anything offensive he’s done. If he did, it would at least be a sign that he can admit he’s screwed up, but it seems like in his mind, he never screws up.”
so I dunno, on one hand he is a important LGBT activist but on the other hand he’s said some pretty offensive stuff that doesn’t make him a good spokesperson either. I guess since he’s such a high profile person this community pays a lot more attention to everything he does.
But I have to say it was kind of depressing reading all those comments from that news article, because after reading through most of the comments, there seems to be this disconnection between the G/L and T folk….G/L ppl accusing the trans people of being too whiny and attacking the G/L community for ridiculous reasons, and then the trans folk accusing people in the G/L community of being transphobic yadda yadda. It just upsets me to see everyone fighting with each other like this. the GLBT community can’t move forward in equal rights if they are always fighting with each other.

oh, I was referring to the Queerty article that is a link in the show notes that talked about Dan Savage getting glitter bombed. People stopped commenting on it a couple days ago, but a lot of stuff was said by all.
