Rapper T.I. is under fire for saying in an interview that gay people are “too sensitive” and “not American” in a response to the outrage over Tracy Morgans anti-gay jokes. How can you be the butt of other people’s jokes and enjoy laughing at yourself without becoming a doormat for haters?

  1. the two internet killer bills that are trying to be passed now are the SOPA bill that Congress is trying to pass, that would effect any website that has copyrighted material from movies or music, the worst thing is that the website could be completely shut down forever, while other content on websites would be heavily censored, basically the law would be very similar to what censorship laws China and Iran have.

the second bill the Senate is trying to pass right now is called the PROTECT IP Act which is just as bad…

we can only hope that if these bills to pass Congress and the Senate, Obama won’t sign them, because if they do pass, the internet for us Americans will be screwed…

this website has a lot more information about what is going on:

He said something to the effect that it was unamerican to respond to hate speech by holding the speaker accountable. I wonder if he feels the same way about the N-word.

    • He doesn’t. Doesn’t mean everyone agrees with him.

One thing I keep telling people who say that to me, is that it’s hard to dismantle one form of hate and injustice (racism) without dismantling other forms (economic injustice, homophobia, sexism, class warfare).

If your’e really serious about fighting racism, you’re going to look at other ways people are oppressed and try to tackle those on too. Same goes for us. And we can do with grace, dignity and a fabulous sense of humor!

Cool show, I found this Christmas song for you some months ago.

  4. Than says:

People everywhere, whether they live under free speech or censorship, are free to say whatever they want. Whatever you say or do has consequences. If a comedian says a joke that’s offensive but funny, people will laugh. If a comedian says a joke that’s offensive and not funny, people will get pissed off. It’s unavoidable.
