With Hollywood trying to shut down the Internet, should the Internet boycott the Oscars?

Today film maker, drag queen Peaches Christ talks about how the entertainment industry can save itself by focusing on the interactive experience of a movie goer. The demand for audiences who want to have a rich, intense group experience like her Midnight Mass shows are growing.

Peaches, you’re always a please. And Marc & Fausto totally have it right. The way the conversation develops whenever you’re on the show is extremely unique and entertaining as well as informative and thought provoking. So glad midnight mass rocked Rocky Horror, and love your perspective on the new model of media.

  2. It’s always great to have Peaches on the show! She is so great.

As for the whole issue over Lady Gaga’s rabid fans, while the things they have said to people they don’t agree with are horrible, it doesn’t really surprise me. Every popular musician has their batch of crazy rabid fans who always start up drama and talk shit to others. However, I do not necessarily agree with Peaches when she said that a fanbase can potentially hurt the musicians career. Some musicians I listen to have some pretty douchey fans that are just awful people, and I have witnessed many of them in person when I saw these musicians in concert, but as bad as they can be, I don’t think it really sullies the musician’s reputation. That’s just how I see it. I do think it could be helpful/responsible if Lady Gaga addressed her fans and told them to stop acting like crazy people.

Lastly, about Oscars coverage, honestly I wouldn’t be upset if you guys didn’t cover it. I am not sure if I will even watch it myself this year. The only movies I saw that were nominated this year was Rango and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I wanted to see War Horse since I saw the amazing play earlier this year, but I never got around to seeing it. Plus with all the SOPA/PIPA bullshit, I have kind of been dis-inclined to support Hollywood anymore. While Billy Crystal’s last hosting of the Oscars was a delight, that was so long ago, the Oscars have become so “blah” these last few years….So it’s really up to you guys if you wanna cover it.

Love you Peaches, always at top of it, even as a monkey ;-)
Can’t wait to have you 3 united again for a face to face show! You rock!

  4. BASboy says:

Cover the fashion and the open of the Oscars and you can just grab whatever highlights show up on the news. Or play the video podcast of Marc masturbating and Fausto having sex during the Oscars. After all, being a Plus subscriber, I am expecting all these private video feeds.

  5. Rick says:

Great podcast guys. Peaches is the best! Just curious as to why her movie is going to Chiller. That is a very obscure channel. Netflix was not interested?

  6. Tim says:

I have only seen one of the best picture nominees this year (midnight in paris) and barely any of the acing nominees (michele wiliams and christopher plumber in “Marilyn” and “Beginners” respectively-neither is deserving). All these nominees are boring and uninspiring. With no muppet musical performances to look forward to, I really don’t care. I am interested in the fashion, but I can watch “Fashion Police” a week later.

  7. Than says:

I normally skip the Oscars because I just don’t give a fuck, but I’ve been roped in to an Oscar party. I wonder what turd they’ll polish and give a blue ribbon this year.

  8. Andy says:

I agree with Peaches, the movie “Drive” is worth a watch. One of my favourite movies of 2011.
