Early on in their careers, many queer entertainers get the misguided advice that they should stay in the closet or at least not talk about their sex lives because doing so will scare the children.
But with the success of many openly gay comedians and TV shows like Modern Family and Glee, is this true anymore? To be funny means you have to be in touch with your authentic self, even if it’s raunchy, dirty, sexy and delicious.
Today we’re talking to the very funny and unapologetic Jackie Monahan about how coming out as a comedian has now allowed her to get away with anything. With a license to thrill, Jackie is killing audiences with her raunchy brand of lesbian jokes.
Listen as we chat with Jackie about her fabulous film, Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same about a woman who falls in love with a space alien with hilarious results.
Plus all the hot news:
First Britney, now this! Madonna’s daughter Lourdes shaves half her head. What is it about kisses from Madonna that make women want to shave?
France finally bans the word mademoiselle in legal documents.
A chicken nugget resembling George Washington attracts a $200 bid on eBay.
And gossip rags speculate that Robert Downey Jr. enjoyed his cross dressing in Sherlock Holmes so much, he’s now developed an expensive addiction to wearing fancy women’s clothing, including panties, hats and high heels.
You can catch Jackie at Rooster T. Feathers on March 1, 2012 at the Fruit Punch Show.
