This past March, sexy muscle daddy Dennis Mayer and his partner John Hart made international news after getting caught having sex on the balcony of their room on a gay cruise. They were arrested by the island country of Dominica, threatened with invasive rectal medical exams and up to 14 years in prison.
Today, Dennis and his partner John Robert Hart join us from their home in Palm Springs to talk about the horrific ordeal.

GROSS, not only they got naked in public but they had to be butt ugly (Sexy muscle my ass). The should be sent to jail for that. Poor people that had too see that!
What Dennis and John went through was horrible, and it sucks that they had to find out the hard way that the country they were in was so homophobic, had laws against homosexuality, and that the Cruise line did little to support them. They are lucky they got a good attorney who helped them get a much lighter sentence. Yet in a country that is so far behind in human-rights, there isn’t really much you can do. Countries like these will probably never change their ways, it’s fucked up but, yeah :[
At least these guys are trying to move on with their lives and put this behind them, yeah Atlantis Cruise could apologize to them or give them some other form of compensation, but I am sure it would not change how they do business, or that they would try and do a better job of protecting their customers from these kind of situations. All they care about is making money.
I found them very charming. I can’t stand the haters. One of your commentors said he knew people on the ship who saw them, but that would be impossible because it was a private veranda. I appreciated getting the full story and their honesty.
I never understood that there were protests on Dominica days before the cruise arrived. First of all, the people on the island were obviously looking to make an example of somebody. Yes, indecent exposure and public sex is probably against the law in most countries all over the world, but the degree to which it was prosecuted and the treatment of Dennis and John while in custody was certainly anti-gay bias. It’s horrifying to think they were met by protesters at the police station and were told to run. Sounds like the mob could have been a serious threat on their lives. Second, that makes it even more despicable that Altlantis would continue to go Dominica- might as well be Jamaica. That Atlantis told them NOT to contact the US embassy and then handed them over to the third-world Dominica police is insane! I completely understand that Dennis and John want to put this behind them, but if I were in their place, I would sue Atlantis for putting them in danger and costing them thousands of dollars. I am shocked Atlantis has made no effort to make things right with Dennis and John or the public image of Atlantis, and instead blamed the victim while continuing to get rich with no qualms.

Reading some reactions yesterday on FB shocked me. This is an experience I wouldn’t wish to anyone. And then you have people giving theirs hate comments without the knowledge of what really happened…
The worse is that those people who are condemning John and Dennis are in fact condemning themselves and all LGBT inhabitants of any country with anti-gay laws.
But enough negativity. I hope John and Dennis to put what happened in their past very soon. They came on the show with dignity and sincerity. Congratulations guys.
I always miss the BEST cruises! Free entertainment of the adult kind. Man, if there are two people I’d like to see making out it would be these two. Usually it’s the ones you don’t want to seen naked that parade around. Please tell me there was a little bit of foreplay wrestling beforehand! Well, at least in my version there is. Grrrrrr. You guys look awesome and keep up the healthy sex life. You are definitely embracing life. Great show!!!
Regardless the merits of being naked and having sex in public, being asked to have a anal exam to confirm if there was sexual intercourse is simply outrageous. Was it a straight couple they would NEVER consider the possibility of asking the lady “can we exam your vagina?”. That just show how, for a lot of people, gays are still people whose rights are inferior or unimportant.
Just finished listening to the show now: wow, what a great show. You guys are really raising the bar with each show.

A great show, boys! It was good to hear their side of the story. I’ve never been on an Atlantis Cruise, but if I do get the chance I’ll consider first what places they are visiting. But to find out they have never been back in touch with John & Dennis to apologize or at least see how they are doing makes it unlikely I would ever choose their cruiseline.
everyone is entitled to their opinion whether informed or uninformed. that’s a sad reality.

Like many of the others, I enjoyed the interview immensely. Definitely do not want to go to Dominica or travel with Atlantis. Although I agree that the guys shouldn’t have been having sex on the balcony, my problem is with Atlantis. Any cruise line that advertises to gay folks should never be taking them to severely antigay places. That’s just wrong.
Very true, at the end of the day the cruiseline just cares about money and goes to shitty places where gays are not welcome.
I also read some of the comments on Facebook about this show. Gosh, time that certain people pull their conservative stick out of their ass. Moreover Dennis and his partner had not sex in the public but on their balcony on the ship.
