Today the fabulous Kyle Greer joins us to give LGBT Pride Parades a musical titty twister plus a new song “Shit Guys Say on Grindr.”
What should Pride Parades be about today? Do fancy drag queens, hot leather daddies, and fierce dykes on bikes make us all look way more interesting than we really are.

The porn star killer was arrested at an internet cafe in Berlin.
Great podcast guys. Chris Crocker’s special will be on HBO on June 25.
ME @THE ZOO tells the story of Chris Crocker, a controversial video blogger from a small town in Tennessee. Crocker was bullied out of school in the 8th grade and was, by his account, raised on the Internet.
His online videos have been viewed over 270 million times to date – including the infamous 2007 ‘Leave Britney Alone’ YouTube declaration. ME @ THE ZOO is an intimate look at Crocker, who is arguably the first Internet celebrity to cross over into mainstream media and is part of the first wave of young people coming into adulthood under constant self-surveillance.
Sadly HBO has decided not to send out screenings for the documentary and isn’t allowing Chris to do interviews. LOL
How ironic that this film about internet fame eschews the very media that made it possible.
That’s HBO, locked down.
HBO has a very specific, delicate business model that is highly profitable, and they are terrified of change.

Chris Crocker on HBO.
Good grief. You read my comment today. I’m going to be branded a colorblindphobe. I misspoke out of ignorance, and now, I’ll be a pariah. Can’t we all just be friends?
“I’m not calling you a liar, just don’t lie to me.”
I LOVE YOU, FLO!!!
Good show today. I didn’t want it to end.
Kyle was a delight! Fantastic show!
People will always have hang-ups over the gay pride parades, what ya gonna do about it. I have never been to any of the Austin pride parades, although after hearing how awful it is from the lovely Christeene, I doubt am missing much. That Queer Bomb pride thing might be fun to go to, but the scorching hot summer is here and I can’t stand being outside in it. Plus it already happened. oh well. I’d have no one to go to it with anyways since none of my friends live in Austin anymore, going by yourself would be kinda lame. Unless you just wanna people-watch.
The over-commercialization of fests seem to be the #1 thing people complain about, but I wonder how pride fests differ in other countries, if they are less-commercialized. I can’t imagine them being MORE commercialized than the pride fests in America though. We reign supreme in over-commercializing the shit out of everything.
thanks, xchickengirlx! i had a blast as usual!
oops! sorry, this is kyle – i just realized manny’s account is logged in! ha! i’m drunk!

great show and i couldn’t agree more with everything you said!
i hope austin queer bomb works. the reality of the situation is that throwing a party is expensive. porta potties need to be rented, overtime police need to be paid, permits need to be applied and paid for, volunteers need to be trained, etc etc etc. all that costs a ton of money. we have two choices, the burning man model (expensive tickets, no sponsorship) or free/donation with sponsorship.
to the person who complained about the b-list celebrities, talent isn’t free. that b-list washed up celebrity was all your pride committee could afford (and i’m sure plenty of people enjoyed the show). Lady Gaga did San Francisco pride when no one knew who she was. do you think she will do it again? would be great if she did but doubtful.
to steal from the new yorker: we’re here, we’re queer, we’re used to it. I’m glad that San Francisco’s pride celebration is free. i’m thrilled that bud light and sky vodka (or whoever) picks up the tab so that a little gay boy from the central valley can enjoy his first pride for free. might not be for us anymore but it is still relevant and important. i live near the staging area for the parade (embarcadero). whether or not i participate i am moved by the diversity of participants and spectators, especially the families. they cheer just as loud for Equality California, gay service members and steamworks (well, maybe not, but it clearly doesn’t bother the two mommies with their kid who got up early to get a good spot on market street).
