Despite the obvious problems with our economy, unregulated banks and runaway prison and military spending, the battle for Marriage Equality is one of the top political issues of our day because it makes a lot of money for conservative churches and politicians who cater to people’s fears.
For over a decade, writer and philosopher John Corvino has been debating conservative figures on issues surrounding gay people. He’s the good guy. Most recently he’s partnered with anti-Equality big wig Maggie Gallagher to put out a book “Debating Same-Sex Marriage ” where they both write about and respond to each other views. They are currently on a book tour, together.
Is he nuts? Or is this a secret plan to change conservative people’s hearts and minds by simply having a conversation?
Today John Corvino joins us to talk about how Marriage Equality has changed over the years, what’s holding back half the country from embracing equality and what it’s like to write a book with Maggie Gallagher!
