BillCruz-Vamp-THUMB-JUL2012

Comedian Bill Cruz, the Cesar Chavez of stand-up comedy joins us to try to bring some peace to all the drama unfolding around these entertainers, and to ask the difficult questions, how much can people be held responsible for the awful things they say onstage?

And will my buddies let me give them head if nobody’s looking?

  1. The thing you guys gotta understand is, that this girl/heckler didn’t blog about what happened to her on a personal blog, she blogged about it on TUMBLR. On tumblr, most people are offended by ANYTHING 1000000x more than people on any other social media website. Tumblr is also a haven for feminists to rally together and get all up in arms about anything they find offensive towards women.

so of course this spread like wildfire, and with many tumblr blog posts like this, people behave like sheep and will take only one side, which in this case is the side of the heckler. They won’t go to other websites and try to find out what really happened, no, on tumblr people will believe in anything. So who knows if this girl is telling the whole truth. Her story was that she had no idea who Daniel Tosh was, yet she was familiar with other comedians like Dane Cook, who’s material she kinda liked? I find it hard to believe she went to that show completely clueless about what she was going to see.

No, I think she knew exactly what she was doing. She knew she could weave up some big story and play her self as a victim and it would get a huge reaction from tumblr.

I have a feeling if she didn’t post that blog entry on tumblr no one would have ever known about it, unless she had made a name for herself as a popular blogger on some other site.

  2. it would be interesting to see what Cameron thinks of the whole ordeal, because I’ve seen comments from women who think rape jokes can be funny and didn’t take a big issue with what Daniel Tosh said.

Then there is Sarah Silverman who has made rape jokes, this video is from more recent material. Of course what she said her is completely different from what Tosh said, she in this bit she was bringing attention to rape culture and the mistreatment of rape victims…

but I wonder how many feminists are rallying against Sarah Silverman for making rape jokes?

    • Yeah but it’s all about context and meaning, not the topic itself. Comedy exists to help us heal from horrible things that happen (rape, or a football in the groin) and Sarah is poking fun at the tragedy that most rape victims don’t report the crime, and not at the victims themselves.

  3. Fausto, I just about died when you made the drag queen lightbulb joke. I kid you not, I have two boxes of burned-out lightbulbs in my spare bedroom, just in case I need them. CLOCKED!

Hi boys, loved the show. That written RHPS “sequel” you mentioned is called “Revenge of the Old Queen”. It’s pretty bizarre and ends with Riff Raff having sex with his dead sister (Magenta) in her coffin. If I can find the file I’ll pass it on to you.
