After getting up from a grueling set of bench presses at the gym, Marc noticed the sweat stains on by back looked like the Bat-signal. The dark sweat rises. You know who is really sweating it this week? Mitt Romney.

Listen as we take a look at Mitt Romney’s darkest hour. Why even Republicans have had it with him and what it means for the next election. Are Romney’s ridiculous statements just a strategy to get people not to vote?

Another excellent show guys. In fact I havent finished listening to it yet but I’m sure it was great from beginning to end lol. The thing isI always want to post about the show while listening but I end up waiting until it finishes and by then I forgot what I wanted to say lol.

About elections, in Brazil we have one day for voting and its compulsory. If you don’t vote, you not only need to pay a fee but you are also not allowed get a passport, to get a job as a civil servant and, if you are a civil servant, you may have your salary suspended till you normalise your situation. Of course that is very simple process, just go to a public office where you can justify why you didn’t vote and pay a ridiculous fine (about the equivalent of $2). One interesting thing about the Brazilian elections thou is the fact it is completely electronic. The vote is digital and the results usually come on the same night of the elections.

Talking about zombies and the apocalypse, Im with Fausto. I always feel that I should be stocking food and supplies, though I don’t really do it. But what worries me the most is the digital apocalypse. Every time I save something important on Evernote, or rely on an information that is on my email or think about all my precious (digital) pictures of the last ten year of my life I get a bit apprehensive. I always think “we are more and more dependant on technology and on the digital/virtual life. What will we do when the apocalypse arrive?”. I know I would still have my backups, but electricity would end too. Then I remember that episode of Lost when they show Hurley listening to a beautiful song while observing people living in the island and suddenly the song stops and he realises his batteries died.

The scene I talking about starts at 4:40, the part I mentioned is at 6:00.

  2. I’m not sure if Romney shooting himself in the foot with this campaign will make enough democrats not vote because they think he won’t win anyways, thus allowing Romney to win the election. At least I would hope not. Even though I live in Texas, I will still vote. While many scoff at this, I do think every vote counts. Unless of course the voting gets rigged, which in that case your vote may not matter if it is thrown out.

For the correlation between homophobia and the Boy Scouts/the Catholic Church. I think that since they don’t want to admit they give refuge to pedophiles and protect them, and are, horrible organizations, they attack the homosexual community to draw attention away from their cover-ups. There are still those who try to tie homosexuality with pedophilia. They’ll throw out bullshit statistics, and even when the pedophile had a wife and kids, they’ll still be in denial. They are so deluded with their homophobia that they have no sympathy for the victims.

  3. DREAMS ACHIEVED! One of my comments has been read! :-D
A lot of your Facebook updates don’t show up on my feed. Since I’m not sure how Facebook prioritizes updates, I have no clue why that is. I make it a point to look at your Facebook, but I miss things. I blame Facebook and myself, 80/20.

Fausto, your theory on Romney is interesting, but I don’t know if him or his team are smart enough to engineer a scheme like that. It also has a pretty good potential to backfire. At the same time, I know he isn’t stupid enough to make this many mistakes so often. So I’m undecided as to what he is up to, but I am inclined to agree that this is all on purpose.
As for voting, I don’t feel terribly empowered about it, but it is something that I need to do to keep blood off my hands. I’m open to the idea that they may rig a presidential election, and honestly, a win by Romney would confirm it for me.

About the questions you got for Dida Ritz AFTER the show, I agree that its a very short notice you give before each interview. I particularly hate twitter (or maybe I dont understand it) and rarely use it, so I get your updates mainly thru Facebook and RSS. I think a one day period between announcing and recoding the show gives the audience plenty of time to come up with questions.

As both a trombonist and a pianist, I’m curious to know how you suggest combining the two John Cage style.

  6. Than says:

It looks like the Mothman, a dark omen, if you believe in that kind of bullshit.

  7. Fausto’s sweat stain looks like a giant butterfly! ¡Eres una mariposa!!!

i have never voted in a booth and don’t understand the emotional attachment to that. with permanent vote by mail i have never missed an election. several friends who love the booth have admitted to missing an election or two because something came up. reason alone to give up the booth!
