Drag queens are in a sticky situation. We love them for being outrageous and challenging us to think differently about the world. But, they are also guardians of our LGBT culture and we expect them to have a deep understanding of the long road to freedom.

Today RuPaul’s gal pal Michelle Visage, a permanent judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race joins us to tackle head on the controversy surrounding the show’s Shemale/Female challenge.

Who is “Michlle” Visage? hehehehehe…. Guess you guys don’t have spell check when making those photo montages of your featured guests! 🙂

    • Whoopsie! Thanks for catching that! Seems like the CH and LL in MICHELLE / MICHLLE form an optical illusion to me, where you don’t always catch a typo or missing letter. It’s not the first time this has happened with names with lots of double consonants!

Does anyone else see it this way?

  2. I busted out laughing about Michelle’s t-bagging remark. I had to stop what I was doing and re-listen to the segment. I couldn’t ever imagine my mother talking to me about t-bagging. Even in this day, my mother must think it’s a Lipton product.

  3. GREAT show!

i’m fascinated by when you call the queens he and when you call them she. At first i thought you (including Michelle) use she for a traditional drag queen (whatever that means) and he when they are more of a performance artist. Sharon and Alaska contradict my initial theory. Maybe i’m making too much of Milk being a “he” and everyone else being a “she”?
