After years of speculation, Olympic champion Bruce Jenner tells ABC News “I am a woman.” Not many are surprised by the news but they are shocked that Bruce identifies as a Republican.

Today, Parker Marie Molloy who writes about trends and culture for Upworthy joins us to talk about Bruce, RuPaul’s new “you got mail” message and Michfest shutting down.

Haven’t listened yet, but I enjoy hearing Parker! I know she’s been a bit “controversial” in the past but I like the cut of her jib. She’s opinionated and funny. Just because you’re an advocate doesn’t mean you have to be perfect or boring. I think it shows everyone is multi-dimensional and I don’t get why people want to white-wash that.

  2. welp, this will be one podcast I will be tuning out of since I absolutely cannot stand Parker and how she carries herself as a “journalist” Anyone who starts a useless war over a word on the internet and tells people to go drink bleach and die isn’t worth listening to their shitty opinions.

I did see her on the Today show the other day when they did a piece about Bruce Jenner, Parker was the only trans advocate they could get? So lame.

put me on blast for being so negative and not giving Parker a chance, criticize me all you want, tell me how wrong I am about Parker, I really don’t give a shit, it won’t change my mind.

Parker is just one of those people, who are against everything I stand for when it comes to fighting for social justice, she, and plenty of other social justice “advocates” on the internet. She and those people represent everything WRONG when it comes to advocating for these issues. I just find them to be really shitty people.

    Yay Parker!
Don’t care at all about Bruse or Easther Jenner, what ever her name is but I love hearing from Parker.

I didn’t have to see the Bruse Jenner interview, I heard a few questions that they asked her on the radio and knew it’s just your stereotypical trans interview and I’m bloody sick of them.
The media seems to have a play book for cause and effect of what they think certain people will react and it’s always bleeding boring.
Who ever is in power gets to write history and that means they write the stereotype they like.

I’ve seen gays of all types being represented in the media an this is a sign of coming equality…
Trans still get lumped in this bla of simplicity. While I’d like to see trans people represented in a more diverse light.
However I’d also like to see Aspergers people who aren’t all geniuses, hackers that aren’t all doing something illegal, an Artificial Intelligents that doesn’t want to take over the world, someone with Dissociative Identity Disorder who don’t end up in the metal ward. Am I gonna get any of these outcomes, probably not. I’m ok with it.
If we the people want to be represented in a better light we just have to produce the light our selves. Think thats why I’m an artist.
    *Shrugs*

Sorry I went off a little there but I think it translates
To yay Parker, liked the show thank you guys love yeah, muuwah ‘ )
