Cher rocks some awesome hair as she presents her son Chaz with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. It was a big surprise to everyone that Cher showed up o present the award to her son alongside Chaz’s stepmom Mary Bono Mack.

Many people were surprised when Cher won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her leading role in Moonstruck.

When asked how she had the courage to take so many risky moves in her career, Cher responded: “This ain’t no dress rehearsal,” saying that we only have one life to live, one very short run, and then it’s over — there are no do-overs.

For therapist and blogger Damon L. Jacobs, hearing Cher’s courageous sentiment inspired him to come out of the closet as a teenager.

Today, Damon is using his experience as a therapist to help others embrace aging because the true fountain of youth is the satisfaction and inspiration you get from growing older.

Here’s a sneak peek of “Becoming Chaz,” the story of Chaz Bono’s transformation from a woman to a man airing on May 10 on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. Immediately following the film, Rosie O’Donnell will interview Chaz, his girlfriend, the filmmaker and other trans people. I’m excited to see how Cher deals with Chaz’s transition.

In one of the few bright spots of last nights grammy performances, Cee Lo green was involved in one of the biggest song heists of all time.  And it was his own song!  Watch as he performs with Gweneth Paltrow, who stole his song for the song theft ring known as Glee earlier this season, in a costume taken stright out of the Elton John storage unit at Muppets Home, Jim Henson Studios.  Interestingly, in the rush to plunder all of the necessary props, the wrong piano was carried off.    OR, was this another attempt to secure the gay viewer?  Why else would they chose  the “Elton John” piano used in the John, Cher, Bette Midler video from the Cher Show?

The whole idea has been scrapped because the Academy decided not to nominate Cher’s Burlesque movie for anything, not even best song. So she won’t be going, and James Franco won’t be in drag, wearing Bob Mackie. It’s so sad, because both of them have the abs to pull an outfit like that off.

I hope Cher isn’t having second thoughts about her role in the new Burlesque film which despite our rave reviews, few people are going to go see. I’m sure it will be a hit with DVD sales.

Even Cher is sometimes flabbergasted by her own career.

Burlesque may not have done well in theaters on its opening weekend, but the delightfully divalicous romp through world of a fantasy burlesque theater is a hit with gay men and drag queens everywhere.

Comparisons between Burlesque and Paul Verhoeven’s camp catastrophe hit-film Showgirls are inevitable, but while Showgirls is a roller coaster of decadent madness, Burlesque is merry-go-round and your stuck on the pony that doesn’t go up or down- pleasant but not thrilling.

Sure the music is fun, and as Nomi Malone would say, “it doesn’t suck” but the film really seems like a long playing Christina Aguilera music video with Cher making a special appearance. Expect to see hoards of drag queens lip synching the movie to death in the bars for years to come.

Bruce Vilanch put the F. U. in funny for a lot of folks. And boy does he on today’s podcast! He’s on today’s show to talk about why he’s coming to Chicago, why the Academy Awards blackballed Brokeback Mountain and where he keeps his enormous collection of t-shirts.

Although he started out wanting to be an actor, Bruce turned to journalism and writing for a career which really took off when comedy legend Bette Midler hired him to “punch up” her act. Hollywood soon called and he moved to Los Angeles to write for television shows like Cher’s post-Sonny TV variety hour titled “Cher” as well as provide material for comedians like Richard Pryor, Lily Tomlin and Joan Rivers.

And of course, he is the man behind most of your favorite jokes that appear on the Oscars and the Tony award ceremonies. We think that next year he should hold his jokes hostage and demand that a gay man host the ceremonies- it’s the least we can do after the tragedy of having “Brokeback Mountain” lose to “Crash.”

When Harvey Fierstein left the the popular Broadway hit “Hairspray,” Bruce returned to his acting roots to take over the part of Edna Turnblad.

Listen as we chat with Bruce about John Travolta taking on the same role for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical adaptation of the original film.

Chaz Bono comes forward on Good Morning America and talks about his transition into becoming a dude. Work it Chaz!

It’s interesting to see how a major news program handles his circumstances.

Chaz in the interview: “I’m happier, more confident, I feel great. I believe things happen when they are supposed to happen. Life is just great now. Nothing scares me. I’m going to be focused more on the T now than the L or the G.”

One of my favorite web series is the “Cher and Chaz show” a comedy collaboration between Jackie Beat, Nadya Ginsburg, Selene Luna and the fabulous Roseanne Barr. As usual, they’re all brilliant.

You might remember when we talked to Nayda and Selene in October about working on the websieres, and here’s the next episode!
