Here you have it folks. Like we predicted and head-writer Bruce Vilanch teased us about, James Franco dressed up like Marilyn Monroe. Very nice! You gotta love Chicago drag queens Chicago’s Cher and Velicity Metropolis, who recently got dressed up as Cher and Christina Aguilera to go see a midnight screening of Burlesque, the tacky new film that gay men everywhere are comparing to Showgirls, but not as slutty.

One of my all time favorite drag queens, Vaginal Creme Davis quietly “slunk out of the country in 2006 to move to Berlin, Germany, never to return,” until now.

Thanks to the good people at UCLA Queer Arts Conference, Vaginal Davis (no longer creme) returned triumphantly to California for a command performance as part of their Queer Arts Conference. I’m sure it was hot. You might remember Vaginal Davis around a decade ago when she was opening for Margaret Cho and Lisa Lampinelli. Yeah, she’s that funny.

In this video Vaginal Davis turns the tables on Damiana Garcia as she tries fruitlessly to interview her. Come back to America Vaginal Davis! We miss and need you!

Finally, a parody of Katy Perry’s California Girls that doesn’t make us want to run screaming. Watch Lady Bunny’s latest video as she gives a West Virginia take on that insipid California Girls song.

The video highlights what Lady Bunny is best known for: cheap jokes she found on a bathroom wall, trashy NYC drag queens and lots of fake puking and vomiting. The video includes Is that Lady Bunny dressed up as Santa Claus?

It seems the latest social media trend for drag queens is to make trashy parody videos of a pop songs featuring poop jokes and hunky guys. We’re glad they are finally listening to our advice.

Remember those fabulous silhouettes phonetically teaching you how to talk like normal people on the 1970s TV show “Electric Company?” You might not have been born yet. But Varla Jean Merman remembers.

This delicious video was recorded backstage at the launch party for Randy Jenson’s documentary web series “50faggots.”

Because of the squeaky clean of Archie and his friends, many comic book artists over the years have shared a chuckle depicting the characters in alternate situations, where Archie and Reggie are trannies who find themselves getting tortured by Betty and Veronica, or turning the tables on them and tying them up and going on their dates as them.

There’s something always hilarious about slash fiction, when we see these characters we know well and love in unusual circumstances.

Welcome to 50 F*ggots – the groundbreaking, new, online documentary series educating, exploring and celebrating how individual effeminate gay men survive and thrive in today’s American queer communities!

50 F*ggots educates audiences with the unprecedented access to the lives and experiences of effeminate male activists, artists, professionals and educators – perspectives rarely discussed within most cultures.  The series addresses the dearth of self-acceptance among effeminate men, young and old, with humorous anecdotes, important wisdom, and inspiring models of resilience. By offering individual alternatives to dominant constructions of American masculinity and heteronormative gay lifestyles, this film illuminates the on-going issues relevant to queer communities.

The first season, located in the urban neighborhoods of Chicago, Washington D.C., and New York City, dedicates two years to documenting the stories of ten effeminate gay men. These men discuss their professional and personal lives, often in contradiction to communities that demand a rigid and binary definition of gender, particularly valuing patriarchy and an “appropriate” presentation of “straight-acting” masculinity. Regardless of each man’s assertion of their own authentic self, specific dominant ideologies construct the societal assumptions of these men’s presumed personalities, sexualities and behaviors.

This documentary series celebrates the differences among urban and rural environments, along racial, religious, and intergenerational lines. While the series allows each man to discuss the ways their personal effeminate expressions are negotiated in career, relationships, and communities, this documentary project creates national dialogue around the diversity of ways to truly “be” a man.

Drag queen Sherry Vine couldn’t rest on the success of her hit parody video of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.”

Now known as Lady Caca, Sherry Vine has teamed up with her gal pal Peppermint to bring another hilarious take on Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s video “Telephone.” This time the prison guards have a harsher beauty and even a shake weight gets into the crazy mix.

I’m sure the video directed by Blake Martin has a dozen other well known drag queens, can you spot them?

My friend Larry La Fountain says that Latinos usually wind up playing the space alien in most sci-fi films. So why did I have a strange sense of Deja-vu when I saw the Na’Vi aliens in the new film avatar?

Here’s some news footage of Miss Gay Brazil 2009 being interviewed after the pageant. Right in the middle of the interview some angry contestant ran right up to her and snatched her wig and crown right off her head!
