Jim Bennet of GayCo, the gay sketch comedy troupe that sprouted from Second City is back with a new show- “The Audacity of Nope- or How I fell for a Pansy Scheme.” The skits touch on the feelings of many who worked in earnest to get Obama elected who now feel like they’ve been duped. Does President Obama’s voice sound like Ron Popeil’s for a reason?

The whole nation has Obama fever, as the Senator from Illinois plans to take the oath on Tuesday January 20 and become our nation’s first black president.

Everything from key chains, candies and clothing has the Obama O logo slapped on it, even Spider Man is getting into the act.

The latest issue of the popular Marvel Comics superhero Features the President Elect teaming up with Spidey to thwart crime and foil the bad guys. They comics quickly sold out and now they are issuing a second printing.

On today’s show the very funny Jim Bennett from GayCo joins us to re-enact the final page of the sold-out comic book.

Stan Lee, creator of Spider Man is unleashing his first gay superhero, Thom Creed, a high school basketball player who’s forced to hide his sexuality and his superpowers. We’re not quite sure what those super powers will be but we have our hopes!

You heard of the Taco Bell Wedding, well a happy couple from Georgia got married at their place of work, the Waffle House back in July!

Is Beyonce’s song “Single Ladies” causing the downturn in the economy? A new study by New York University finds that Americans prefer music with regular beats during unstable times of economic hardship. So, Beyonce’s song probably isn’t causing the economic turmoil but rather people are turning to it for consolation.

Prince Harry may be a racist by calling his friend a Paki but he’s no homophobe. Video shows Harry mouthing the words “I love you” to one soldier and then kissing him on the cheek and licking his face. He also claims he felt “Gay, queer on the side” after an army exercise.

And the Mexican-born Actor Ricardo Montalban, best known for playing Mr. Roarke on TV’s Fantasy Island, Khan on the Star Trek and his appearance in car commercials uttering the phrase “Soft Corinthian Leather” died on Wednesday at the age of 88.

Intense national events like the election can push some people who are already on the verge of sanity over the edge! Families, friends and co-workers don’t always see eye to eye as we try to figure out where we fit in this big crazy world and that can cause a lot of stress and election fatigue.

Hot news- Broadway in Chicago will host the world premiere of the Addams Family, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved cartoons of the legendary Charles Adams.

The musical is based on the cartoons and not the movies or TV show so we are wondering if we’ll hear the famous some of the famous TV theme song and its delightful finger snaps.

A German public bathroom was reinvented into an art gallery, with the toilets intact-it’s a splash hit! Of course, the art exhibited is mainly graffiti often with a political theme, but I’m sure there is a “meet me at 2PM on Friday for a BJ” or “call me for a good time” somewhere on the walls.

A Japanese aquarium is putting its obese dolphins on a diet and exercise plan, and another zoo is considering giving its formerly obese monkeys tummy tucks.

Poor John McCain just can’t get anyone to see him speak, not even Joe the Plumber. The Republican party had to bus around 4000 school children just to fill the house and Joe the plumber was a no show!

After the GayCo Show “Whitney Houston We Have a Problem!” we talked to Chicago funnyman Jim Bennet about his wonderful “gay voiced” character, a powerful media mogul who just doesn’t seem to like anything he sees in the show. It’s one of my favorite parts.

GayCo began as a lesbigay focused workshop at the famed Second City Comedy Troupe in Chicago. Remember when everyone thought Whitney Houston was a closet lesbian? Their first show “Whitney Houston We Have a Problem” was so well received that they continued putting on shows not just in Chicago but around the country.

The material still holds up a decade later, as the hilarious Jim Bennet and Andy Enninger with a solid ensemble wow the crowds at the Center on Halsted until May 25.

Andy and one of two of his lesbian co-stars from the show decided to have a baby together.

Listen as we talk with Andy and Jim about being a gay sperm donor, gentrifying yourself, Chinese license plates and why Mac users are smarter than the average bear.

Did you know that Jim spearheaded the effort to save Big Chicks, one of Chicago’s most fabulous gay bars? About five years ago, pressure from developers got the city to start enforcing some very old zoning laws in order to get the long-term Uptown bar to shut it’s doors.

The irony here is that business like Big Chicks help to turn the Uptown neighborhood around and make it a desirable place to live in Chicago. It also was the first regular venue where we did our live Feast of Fools shows ten years ago. Can you believe it?

Because of Jim and other activists efforts, we were able to put pressure on the city and state government, passing a state law to allow the bar to stay. Needless to say, drinks are on the house for Jim.

Is this somewhat famous person gay? Jim and Andy are convinced he’s gay, in a gay show, with a gay theater company, but he’s just not ready to come out. What do you think?

Do you think you can tell someone is HIV+ just by looking at them? A new site run by MTV networks Posornot.com challenges this question with a delicious array of people. I’d like to start a whole YouTube trend with people recording their reactions to playing the online game. is that bad taste?

We found the great site on Jim Pickett’s excellent LifeLube blog, which is always a great resource for cutting edge gay health news with a spicy twist.

Although the site does a great job at throwing those myths into the wind, we still can find the “newly awakened bicyclist” and “I used to be a heroin addict hooker but now I’m a poetry studies major” in the group of people.
