Is Madonna finally embracing her inner Wildenstein?

If you’re like me and have a Google Alert on the Bride of Wildenstein, then your inbox is flooded with daily comparisons between the Material Girl’s (as of late) pumped up features and plastic surgery poster-victim, Jocelyn Wildenstein.  But at today’s halftime show, I seriously began considering if Madge was openly embracing these recent comparisons to the cat woman.  Her initial Cleopatra-look (complete with leopard print) bore a striking resemblance to a 1993 David La Chapelle portrait of Wildenstein.

Of course Madonna’s superbowl performance was almost flawless, and she managed to keep her clothes on. But here’s a hilarious clip of Madonna almost falling during the Vouge intro of her halftime show.

For those of you laughing at Madge, try doing her movies in stiletto heels in the freezing Indiana winter!

Although we like to think of the entertainers who make the music we love as one big happy family, in reality most of them don’t know each other very well and are probably quite anxious about their own success.

There is no doubt that because of the strong female musicians have brought the American music industry into the black and had it’s most financially successful year in decades.

With so much great music, why are the fans of artists like Madonna and Lady Gaga fighting with each other?

One particularly ungracious blog Help Mother Monster directs Lady Gaga’s fans to sites where they can attack Madonna and other musicians on a deeply personal level.

Then there’s Madonna’s condescending remarks, and her ongoing fight with Elton John whose already sworn his allegiance to the Gaga.

Does a celebrity catfight qualify as cardio?

Why is Lady Gaga letting her Little Monsters act like real monsters?

Or do they have a point? With all negative talk between Elton John, Madonna and Lady Gaga, one has to wonder if Madonna flipped her lid and forgotten that Express Yourself is her reductive version of Respect Yourself by the Staple Singers?

And what is up with Madona’s awkward humor in her video blogs?

You say ridiculous, I say fabulous! If I have one regret in life is that I personally haven’t worn more insane outfits when the lens of the media was upon me. Next time the cameras are on me, you can bet I’ll be wearing something kooky as well. I live for this stuff.

Do you remember were you were when we saw Madonna’s controversial video “Justify My Love” on the evening news? The video had been rejected by MTV because it showed Madonna kissing a woman, guys in drag and Madonna having multiple sex partners.

Pretty tame by today’s standards, the interview before the video aired shows Madonna arguing for self-expression, but what she was really arguing for is American’s struggle with embracing sexual diversity. Madonna is so cute the way she mispronounces “feminists.”

You know right after this interview she was ready to tell Forrest Sawyer to go fuck himself.

Have we come a long way, or is this conversation still happening elsewhere?

A year ago Madonna laid the ceremonial brick for a planned girls school in the African country of Malawi- a noble mission for a nation where only 27 percent of girls attend secondary school.

Last week, it was announced the school will not be built despite the fundraising success of Madonna’s own charity, Raising Malawi. And two other charities the pop star is affliated with, Success for Kids and the Kabbalah Centre are under federal investigation for lawsuits surrounding the failure of the school. Auditors found some hanky panky in the finances, with 3/4 of the money raised spent on high salaries, country club memberships and fancy cars that go very fast, but they never last no, no.

In what sounds like a plot like taken right out of Evita, Madonna’s future looks gloomy as investigators attempt to uncover corruption inside the Kabbalah Center and the star’s own charities. Will the Madonna face severe fines or even prison time?

My favorite Mexican firecracker La Coacha is back with a new video “Blonde Ambition” where she tries to decide who the reigning Queen of Pop is, amidst the buzz of Lady Gaga “stealing” Madonna’s song “Express Yourself” for “Born This Way.”

I’m not sure exactly what she’s saying all the time (and I speak Spanish) but it’s a hilariously spicy mess.
