Standing on the shoulders of spooky queens like Peaches Christ, Elvira, Cassandra Fever and Lady Gaga, Sharon Needles is exploding big time while managing to keep her guts from spilling all over the stage.

Today Sharon Needles joins us moments before her Chicago debut where she will enter from a coffin performing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Last summer Zach uploaded a video submission to “Your OWN Show” on Oprah’s website, but didn’t make it to the finals, despite getting the most votes due to his online popularity. “When life gives you wheelchair, make lemonade.”

Harpo studios eventually put Zach in the lineup for the show, and made it all the way to the end.

In a surprise move, Oprah Winfrey awarded both Zach Anner and his co-finalist, Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco, their own shows on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Anner will produce a funny “travel show for people who never thought they could travel.”

In Friday’s finale, Winfrey expressed concerns about the physical toll his own show could take on Anner, but in the end, he was too good to pass up.

Here’s him traveling up to the top of Mt. Bonnell in Austin, he and his friend get a little brokeback up on top of the mountain.

“I’m a lucky dude, because I really have no talent,” Anner said, adding that he wants to film an episode in Austin. “Without this city, I would never have learned the skills to do so well,” he said. Anner’s show is expected to premiere sometime this summer, and we can’t wait.

This is a big win for the internet and for differently abled folks everywhere. Congratulations Zach!

Josh Kilmer-Purcell was once Aquadesia, a popular drag queen living in New York City. True to her name, she was known for wearing a custom made acrylic bra that held live goldfish.

Josh turned his wild experiences into a book, “I Am Not Myself These Days“- one of the best drag queen memoirs ever.

Since then, he’s traded his goldfish in for herd of goats. Josh and his partner Dr. Brent Ridge from the Martha Stewart TV show bought a rustic farm in upstate New York named Beekman 1802. Life on the farm is now the focus of Josh’s new book, “The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Became Goat Farmers” and a reality TV show on the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green, “The Fabulous Beekman Boys.”

The TV show, set to premier on June 16th, is a real life green acres gone gay. What happens when a gay urban couple try to earnestly make it as farmers? There’s lots of funny moments and delicious organic homegrown food.

People are outraged that one of their favorite drag queens, the hilarious Pandora Boxx was booted from the reality TV show, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Although the judges loved her comedy, they didn’t always like her style and often gave conflicting or erratic criticism of the way she presented herself.

In her last challenge, the contestants were forced to give makeovers to what appeared to be homeless older gay men, making them their drag mother.

During the runway segment where Pandora and her drag mother performed, Pandora was criticized for allowing her older drag protege to outshine her, and for that, she went up for elimination and lost. But don’t cry for Pandora Boxx, she may have been let go from the show, but her future looks brighter than ever.

We're gonna miss your TV show Kathy!

Kathy told People Magazine:

“It was a really tough decision because I think of ‘The D-List’ as pretty much my baby for the last six seasons and I also think it was really time to stop doing it. Reality is great, but I really didn’t set out to be a reality star. So now it’s time to spread my wings and show that I’m a little different than Kate Gosselin… I’m not saying better, but maybe separate myself from the pack a little bit.”

Don’t slash your wrists yet, she still has two specials in the works and promises to start other projects that might lead her into creative and hilarious new directions.

The Emmy Award winning TV show helped to cement the cable channel Bravo as a place for LGBT friendly programming and re-ignighted the “Suddenly Susan” actress’ career as a gay icon. We all certainly love her stand-up comedy, but for me Kathy’s TV show was a rare opportunity to see the inner workings of the entertainment industry. It was great watching Kathy Griffin’s raw sense of humor make a lot of divas squirm, like Bette Midler and Suzanne Somers.

In podcasting Kathy Griffin was a pioneer who briefly podcasted from her living room back in 2006 and even came on our show, as we interviewed her from the back of her limousine with drag queen Victoria Lamarr.

Today we’re talking to Ongina, also known as Ryan Palao, about what it was like to boldly share this intimate detail with millions of viewers and how it’s affected his life.

Ongina also clarifies some common misconceptions people have about drag queens, gay men and Filipinos and brings some sass and class into our discussion on how costumes help us be the people we want to be.

Ongina shares with us her behind-the-scenes insight into whether Rebbecca Glasscock was trying to manipulate the outcome of the challenge in her favor by having an emotional breakdown which forced the judges to keep her on the show and get rid of Chicago’s gal, Jade.

How could the show kick someone off after they cried about having a friend with AIDS without appearing to be heartless jerks?

One thing’s for sure, after winning half of the challenges on the show so far, Ongina is the girl to lick!

I’ve asked several drag queens why they didn’t try to be on the Drag Race, since obviously it would have been great publicity and opened a lot of doors. They said they feared that drag queens would be negatively represented on the show and decided to steer clear of it.

It doesn’t make any sense to me. If RuPaul told me to jump on an airplane, fly to Los Angeles and walk the runway in drag, I’d do it in second. And so should you.

What makes these types of TV shows so fascinating to watch is how they illustrate the obstacles we all place in front of ourselves because we fear being rejected. We put those roadblocks in our way because we’re afraid to look at where we’ve failed. We feel that we aren’t good enough.

What’s probably the most uncomfortable for the contestants is how the program asks them to take the wig and makeup off, and look in a mirror. The show asks us to embrace our strength and our flaws. In that sense, RuPaul’s Drag Race and the contestants are all winners.

Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion, hosts of the top-rated podcast “Feast of Fools,” nominated their friend, a regular guest of their talk show, for a much-needed makeover to help her recover from her fashion disasters on “What Not To Wear” (WNTW) . Fernós and Felion found an ally in WNTW hosts Stacy London and Clinton Kelly for their “War on Ugly” to combat Amanda’s wardrobe of mass destruction.

The producers of the long-running reality TV show say the episode featuring the fashion-flawed diva Amanda Steinstein is the “gayest episode ever,” as her friends Fausto and Marc ransack her closets and try on her sequins and tiaras as if they are in their own drag pageant. Producers of the show, which is in its seventh season, suggest that Amanda may in fact be the “the worst-dressed woman in the history of the show.”

TLC’s website describes the episode as “Single in Chicago, Amanda’s looking for the right man, but she likes to dress in drag and hide her feminine side. To her, everything is a costume, and style is not a concern.”

Fausto Fernós, host of “Feast of Fools,” insists that the poorly-dressed Amanda “practically lives in black leggings, and all her shirts and sweaters are oversized. In summer she wears these horrible Hawaiian shirts which have a nautical theme, as in Titanic meets the Poseidon Adventure.”

Marc Felion, co-host of “Feast of Fools” who nominated Amanda, claims he knew she needed an intervention for her fashion sense when he saw her in what he describes as “vintage 80s Ray Ban sunglasses, a Hawaiian shirt, black leggings and a black beret!” The first thing he said to her was, “I am embarrassed for you to be dressed like that.” Amanda replied “Yeah, I know. Whatever.”

But there is hope for Amanda, and the duo who nominated her say she is, for the most part, sticking with her “What Not To Wear” makeover. Amanda says of her new look, It takes a little more planning than I’m used to; like something may need to be steamed or ironed before I put it on. The hardest part is the shoes. I know they look better, but they hurt.”

The gang plan on watching the episode with friends and fans of both “Feast of Fools” and “What Not To Wear” at Hydrate nightclub in Chicago with drag queens impersonating the “before” and “after” “Amanda.” Join them for what should be an enlightening and fabulous evening watching what producers describe as “four or five years of therapy crammed into an hour long show.”

Q & A with Amanda Steinstein:

Q: How did you feel when they first surprised you with “What Not To Wear” while you were painting kids’ faces?

AMANDA: My first thought was, “But I’m painting! What about the kids?” After that is was more like, “What is this alternate universe?”

Q: A lot of people would feel a little insulted if they were nominated because they dressed horribly. Were you mad at Fausto and Marc for nominating you?

AMANDA: Mad? Not hardly. I’ve always known I’m not the best dresser, but I didn’t think it could be helped. I feel only love and gratitude for the Feast of Fools who still saw some potential in me.

Q: Did you feel you needed a makeover?

AMANDA: Again, I figured I was a lost cause.

Q: What did you learn about yourself?

AMANDA: I learned I’m not a lost cause! With an unlimited budget, anyone can look good. Or at least I can look good with a decent budget.

Q: So how is the new look working out for you?

AMANDA: It takes a little more planning than I’m used to; like something may need to be steamed or ironed before I put it on. The hardest part is the shoes. I know they look better, but they hurt. I have to plan which days I’ll most need comfortable shoes…when I’ll have to walk a lot, catch buses, etc. I think I need a bigger purse so I can carry the “good” shoes for when I get to my destination.

Q: There was a lot of talk about how this new look could attract a new man in your life. Has there been any romance?

AMANDA: Not so far. I think I need to get out more. But it has definitely changed the way people react to me at work. People don’t dismiss me as easily when I’m four inches taller with boobs out to here. A lot more guys have talked to me in elevators and held doors for me.

It’s been pretty awful. Shaking terribly through the night, painful fevers and complete loss of appetite. Feed a fever, my butt! Here’s another reason why our Health Care System needs an overhaul.

Seeing a doctor, blood tests and medicine, $450 total. And this is the cheaper version. Thankfully we ran into our sexy friend, Chicago Dragons poster boy and fierce Sister of Perpetual Indulgence John Brosan, who always makes me quickly forget about my boo boos.

Meanwhile, Marc Felion and our friend Michael Lehet went over to HRC’s Annual Gala “Summer Chic” to primarily stalk the guest of honor, openly lesbian comedian Jane Lynch and of course to support the advancement of gay rights.

Jane’s well known for her appearances in the great comedy films “A Mighty Wind,” “40-Year Old Virgin” and “Space Chimps.” The nice thing about these charity galas, is that the celebrities they hire to show for them CAN’T leave. You can just take as many pictures of them as you like, and they can’t run away from you!

One nice thing you get to do when you’re sick at home is to watch lots and lots of reality TV. After participating in “What Not to Wear” I’m amazed more than ever on how many hours of shooting, writing and editing it takes to make one hour of a TV show.

What they really are is mini-documentaries. One particularly unusual show I caught was a spin-off of Hulk Hogan’s reality show “Brooke Knows Best” which focuses on Brook Hogan, the daughter of the 1980s wrestling celebrity Hulk Hogan, pretty much doing nothing.

On last weeks show Hulk Hogan (who still looks huge) sat down with her openly gay roommate, choreographer Glenn Packard, to talk about just how “gay” he was.

Glenn’s worked for the likes of N’Sync, Michael Jackson and Liza Minelli. The man’s resume is gay.

Needless to say, Hulk needed to let the viewers of the TV show (all three of us) about how gay friendly he was. “Some of my best wrestler friends are gay.” Which made me realize this is probably the first time he’s publicly acknowledged the sexuality of his famous TV co-stars.

So who’s gay? Randy Macho Man Savage? The Iron Sheik? Andre the Giant (rest in peace)? That’s a whole lot of gay.

We all know that advertising works, especially on podcasts like this one, but a London ad agency is about to expand the realm of advertising into men’s armpits.

Pittvertising. Digital TV screens built into the armpits of hot men’s shirts draw attention on subways, marketing deodorants and other male-body related goods.

Now if condom or underwear manufacturers could do crotchvertising. I’d buy whatever they were selling!

Today we announce the juicy details of our upcoming reality tv show project and Amanda Steinstein is all over it. The producers of TLC’s #1 show “What Not To Wear” starring Stacy London and Clinton Kelly have found what may be the worst dressed woman in North America in our friend Amanda. Eek!

Did you really expect anyone else? Amanda loves to combine black leggings, loud Hawaiian shirts and flip flops and call it evening wear. And like my past obsession with the color blue, Amanda just can’t get enough of the color purple and I’m not talking about the Oscar Nominated film starring Whoopi Goldberg.

We have been having so much fun being a part of this project, breaking into Amanda’s home while she was at work with a camera crew, going through her stuff and saying some really funny, but really mean things about Amanda’s taste in fashion and clothes.

I’m afraid I might have gone too far, but that’s fashion. I just hope people don’t start hating me like they did Jeffrey Sebella when he was (and won) Project Runway. After all, the similarity in our looks is a bit scary.

Amanda will be flown for an all-expenses paid trip to NYC to be torn apart and like the bionic woman, she will be put back together as a better, stronger and more fabulous person! We’ll finally have the Amanda we’ve always wanted. Thank God!

The taping of the show has been so much fun and we’d love to invite ALL of you to Amanda’s unveiling, which I’m hoping will resemble the scene from Rocky Horror Picture Show as Frankfurter unwraps Rocky. We are all cheering Amanda on in her new transformation! Yeah Amanda!

Amanda says that when lots of good things happen to you all at once, it’s like having lollipops raining down on you. At first they hurt when they bonk you over the head, but afterwards you have a bunch of lollipops to enjoy.

We know Troy is a good name for a porn star, but this jerk has spent many years fighting against people getting sex toys in Alabama and actively worked against gay rights legislation. Rumors say that he got caught getting jiggy with his male assistant by his wife.

Also, a blackbird in England learns how to sound like a ambulance to the delight of neighbors and the sexy Chilean Subway Goddess.
