The Douching of Andersonville

Stargaze, the lesbian bar in Andersonville in Chicago closed its doors last weekend. Now, we never patronized the place much but it always seemed like such a fixture in our lesboriffic neighborhood.

I can’t really say I’ll miss the place, but I will miss telling my friends that Stargaze was the “lesbian prison bar” and that “when you got out of women’s prison, they give you a token for a free drink at Stargaze.” You’d really be surprised how many people really believed it.

So why the title “The Douching of Andersonville?” Well, because the lady parts of Andersonville are getting washed out. Vulgar, I know, but I’m also worried that some douche bag bar will open up there.
