Paul the octopus is astonishing soccer fans by predicting the winners of World Cup games. The soothsaying squid from the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre in Germany has correctly picked the result of all three German games so far. Paul the octopus foresaw that Germany would defeat Ghana to advance to the tournament’s knockout stage.
The prophet Paul foretells soccer winners by choosing between two boxes, each containing a scrumptious mussel and decorated with a World Cup country’s flag. Paul correctly picked Germany to beat Australia in their first game. If you’re not a believer in Paul’s amazing forecasting abilities, he predicted Serbia’s shocking upset of Germany. And predicts a German win over England on Sunday.
During the 2008 European Championship, he predicted 80 percent of all German games right.
