Please tell me the thing is dead and that’s just some reflex action.
It has to be. Because an octopus, when alive, does not have the ability to move it’s tentacles like that out of the water. I think whatever he is pouring on it is probably very salty (soy sauce?) and it’s causing the muscles in the tentacles to constrict making it look like they are alive.
Have you watched video how they prepare it?

I couldn’t eat it as well because it looks like the octopus is still alive at the beginning.
I’m not convinced that it’s completely dead. I’m no PETA worshipper – - I LOVE MEAT – - but I think this is a strong case for not eating it ever again. Simply disturbing.
