On today’s show with singer and Madonna expert Melissa Young, we talked about how “Koyaanisqatsi” the 1982 film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke inspired Madonna’s music video for her song “Ray of Light.”
Parts of this groundbreaking film used time lapse photography to capture the activity of modern life, taking events typically shot at normal speed and accelerating them.
If you look at the trailer, you’ll get a glimpse of the movie that inspired ___ the director of Madonna’s video. There’s even a woman who resembles Madge at 1:33!
