I grew up on the Kids in the Hall in the early 90′s so I was really excited to see them getting back together for their comedy tour last year. Now they are making a return to television with an eight part miniseries called Death Comes to Town that seems to be the spiritual successor to the comedy troupe’s madcap 1996 film Brain Candy. The series will air in January in their home nation of Canada and in the US later in the year.
Though he is currently in remission, openly gay cast member Scott Thompson was fighting stomach cancer throughout the filming of the new series. I can’t wait!

Love the Kids in the Hall. What great news! I didn’t know Scott had stomach cancer. I hope he’s ok.
How exciting! So sorry to hear about Scott Thompson’s cancer. They have throughout my life been such an inspiration and I was wondering what had happened to them, so it’s really wonderful and exciting to see them back making another movie. I loved “Brain Candy.”
Hehe, I just had to.
I was always a fan of KITH, tho’ I slept thru’ Brain Candy. I attended a taping in Toronto back in the summer of 1989. One of the sketches produced that day was “If Elvis was my Landlord”.
