The Dragon from Eureka’s Castle Is My Freddy Krueger.

Do you remember “Eureka’s Castle” on Nickelodeon?  Have you seen the new Nightmare on Elm Street reboot?  My advice, don’t be thinking about one right before you watch the other if you plan to sleep that night.

Last night I awoke in a cold sweat in the middle of the night.  The reason?  Magellan the Dragon had tried to kill me in my dreams.  As we all know from A Nightmare on Elm Street (which I haven’t seen the new one yet, but hear it’s just awful), if you die in your dreams you die in real life.  Magellan knew this.  Fortunately for me there was conveniently a Louisville Slugger handy with which to defend myself.  Thank goodness he is a dragon that can’t fly or really breathe fire that well.

For those of you who weren’t still children in the early 90′s, “Eureka’s Castle”  was a children’s program that ran from 1989 through 1995 on Nickelodeon, then later picked up by Noggin/Nick Jr. for a five year re-run syndication from 1999-2004.
