Here are five movie sex scenes that I believe are unintentionally ridiculous. I know there are a lot more out there and I’d love to hear what your favorites are.
Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway Do It in Three Days of the Condor
I wish this Youtube version was little better, as you can’t really register the surprised look on Faye’s face every time she gets poked by Robert. And what’s up with the cutaway scene of New York City? I’ve heard of “lay back and think of England” but New York?
Showgirls Champagne Showers and Undulations in a Pool
Elizabeth Berkeley as Nomi Malone and Kyle McClahacn as Zack Carey get it on in the pool after taking a champagne shower. I’m pretty sure that in her final throws of passion, Nomi’s crotch is no where near where it needs to be for penetration to occur unless Kyle’s penis in on his belly button.

Moment by Moment
As if their lovemaking wasn’t coy enough, in a post coital hot tub scene Lily Tomlin beckons a naked John Travolta to join her with a hand gesture that I think only lesbians or the high priestess of some ancient cult understand. John also begs her not to smoke pot and he refuses to make love to her again until she professes her love for him.
The Broken Macaroni Sound of Brokeback Mountain
In Brokeback Mountain’s sex scene you can almost hear the sound of macaroni breaking at Heath Ledger takes Jake Gyllenhall from behind.
Can two guys ever go camping again without someone calling it a Brokeback weekend?
There’s no nudity but this video may be NSFW
Every Love Scene in 9 1/2 Weeks is Ridiculous
Every love scene in 91/2 Weeks is ridiculous but he feeding frenzy scene is probably the most famous one. If someone ever invites you to watch 9 1/2 Weeks be prepared for some funky stuff to go down and have a fridge full of food and an empty stomach because this person is probably a feeder.

My favourite one is the Showgirls’ sex scene in the pool. Sex in the water is always fun.
For some reason, the scene in Blue Velvet where she says, “Touch my neeeple, my neeeeple is hard” cracks me up.
That movie is so creepy.
Barbarella: “An angel can not make love because an angel IS love.”
And The Handmaids Tale (Freaky sex scene with James Duvall and Faye Dunaway!)
This was all just another excuse for you to bring up Showgirls! Damn you Marc Felion!
I’m actually mildly annoyed by these kind of internet memes where scenes or moments from films are isolated from their contexts for a little laugh. When they’re about crappy movies like “Moment for Moment” it’s OK, but when something sublime and beautiful like Brokeback Mountain, or a well written near classic comedy like “Working Girl” (the video of Melanie Griffith clearing her throat) is used for cheap comedic effect it can actually potentially ruin future viewings of the films.
I have the same issue with nit picking reviewers of films who go on and on about some minor flaw in an otherwise well made film. I find this happens on too many film podcasts in particular.
Fortunately in the case of Brokeback I can’t figure out what your getting at with macaroni thing.
You could make it a drinking game everytime she has a frog in her throat
“Broken macaroni” is a term used in foleying sound into film to suggest something got broken. It’s subtle, but it’s definitively there. They might have used other stuff, like taking denim jackets and rustling around, but the audio was exaggerated for the scene to suggest pain and a rough penetration!
And yes, everything in life is about Showgirls.
