Abandoned Sesame Street

Sesame Street has been a mainstay of PBS since 1969 and even though most of the characters we grew up with are still there (Bert & Ernie) there are quite a few that have been dismissed from the street.

Don Music was thrown out of Sesame Street because he constantly banged his head on his piano when he couldn’t get the songs right. He had to leave Sesame Street because kids were imitating him – not such a great role model!

But characters weren’t the only thing thrown off the Street, in fact there was a whole section of The Street that was abandoned, “Around the Corner.” The kids got confused about the goings on in this section of The Street and eventually it was condemned along with all the folks that worked there – I wonder if that’s where Lucy The Slut from Avenue Q worked?
