At the taping of the season finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race, it’s hard for anyone to outshine a room full of the nation’s top drag queens, but Detox from Season 5 outdid them all by showing up in a fierce black and white style make-up.

These are NOT black and white photos, but in full color. That is how she looked. I can’t wait to see how this translates to television.

It’s truly amazing. I mean, look at her wig. Even the highlights are in black and white!

That’s fantastic. This is an old tv trick, where they make up the actors in the black and white illusion, often used in horror/supernatural shows and movies, since it’s tons cheaper than making the film b&w and color. One of the first times this method was used was in the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy opens the door of her sepia-colored world to the colorful munchkinland. The interior of the house was painted sepia colors, and the actress was clothed in sepia-colored clothing and had sepia-colored makeup on her skin. That wasn’t actually Judy Garland, btw. After sepia-colored girl opened the door, she backed away from it and Judy then stepped out.

yawn… saw it on Community Season04E08, i know some drag queen is gonna copy it right away. in that episode, the Dean did a full 60′s black and white drag mama look, which i feel looks more iconic

The likes of you should seriously shut it. Why would Detox even copy the look? You’re just one of those close-minded faggots who think everyone copies everything you see when most of the time, they’re just plain coincidence. Now again, SHUT IT, ZIP YOUR MOUTH and SASHAY AWAY.
