San Francisco Drag Queen Gets Litigious

Heklina, the San Francisco drag queen and founder of the long running Trannyshack drag show is suing a British outfit for copyright infringement. Heklina claims that Trannyshack UK is being confused for her show and it diminishes the brand she started back in the Stone Age.

Heklina has never been very comfortable that they were using the Trannyshack name even though she’s performed there a couple of times and was even hailed as the “founder of Trannyshack.”

I hope the queens over in the UK get their act together and give Heklina her due. I’d hate to see this go to court but it would be kind of fun to see a man in wig decide the fate of a bunch of queens in wigs. Imagine that court scene.

My first Trannyshack show was in London and I talked to some of the girls who performed there. Most of them acted as though it was no biog deal that they were using the name, but that was almost four years ago.
