Cupcakes Cooked Inside Eggs

This is for you, Angela!

This is an awesome idea.  These cupcakes look delicious and just marvelous, but I’d bet you have some tricks that might make them better.  For instance, why such a big hole? (No, I’m not getting fresh.)  I mean, you can blow egg yolk, etc. out of the egg with a  smaller hole, right?  Any suggestions?  I think Imma try da fix up a mess a’em.

Fabulous! And the comments section is full of great additional ideas (coloring the batter with food dye, piping a buttercream “yolk” into the center of each egg, whoa yum). All I can say is what she said, the hole has to be large enough to fit the tip of a piping bag. The way I make holes for blowing eggs (as shown in linked vid) is by tapping a thumbtack with a heavy spoon, and then widening with said tack. Not sure how wide the tip of a piping bag has to be for the batter or whatev to squeeze out, but probably 5mm at the very least.
