Even if your future employer can look at your facebook page, it is not a big deal I think. You can change the settings so only friends can see your profile. I think most people are just too stupid to change the settings. However Germans are always worry about their privacy. As one German newspaper wrote last week “Germans like to watch but don’t like to be watched”. Maybe only at nude beaches they like to be watched.^^
