Top 3 of St. Louis

This is Ryan with 300 words (or less) to make your Wednesday a little less taxing.

Apologies for the late post. My dad and I had our annual father/son trip this past weekend. This year we traveled to St. Louis to see the sights, taste the food, and experience the gateway to the West. After having a marvelous time, I thought I’d share the essential three things one must do when in St. Louis.

The Gateway Arch

The national monument honoring the westward expansion and icon of the city is a must do. Traveling up in little pods reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), riders see spectacular views 630 feet above the city. This mind-blowing engineering feat is a reminder of what the USA can accomplish.

The City Museum

A young addict of jungle-gym entertainment facilities like Discovery Zone, my inner-child yearns for similar experiences in my current life. The City Museum, “an eclectic mixture of children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of unique, found objects” has filled that void. Truly a place needed to be seen to be believed, the City Museum is worthy of pilgrimages from near and far.

Cunetto’s House of Pasta

St. Louis has some of the best American food I’ve ever had, but Cunetto’s takes the cake or pasta in his case. Real Italian food served in heaping portions, the smell lofting in the air is enough to cause a patron to pass out in ecstasy. Make sure to take your leftovers in a 32oz. styrofoam cup, and sample the St. Louis staple, Toasted Ravioli!
