James Franco Won’t Get to Dress Like Cher for the Oscars

It seems Bruce Vilanch has been working on writing for the Oscars, and had made plans to dress up James Franco as Cher, complete in her over the top Bob Mackie “black widow’ outfit. Don’t get your hopes up, it’s not going to happen.

The whole idea has been scrapped because the Academy decided not to nominate Cher’s Burlesque movie for anything, not even best song. So she won’t be going, and James Franco won’t be in drag, wearing Bob Mackie. It’s so sad, because both of them have the abs to pull an outfit like that off.

Here’s my mock-up of what could have been.

Honestly it could have gone either way.

When will we see a guy show up to the Oscars in drag?
