Week 1 down and I’m being persuaded by gyms, beaches & experiences to drop my life back in A2.
I’ve been completely corrupted. (Fausto, you’re winning).
Despite the fact, my appreciation for Marc and Fausto has only grown, especially after seeing how the podcast actually gets on iTunes. They literally work like dogs.
The Journey:
1 PM: Wake up, grab breakfast and head to the gym.
Proceed with dead lifts, squats & other impossibly draining strength exercises.
Translation: A Completely Exhausting 2 HOURS!
4 PM: Return home & research news stories for the show.
Involves combing stories that suck 5 minutes of your time before realizing they are crappy.
6 PM ish: Eat dinner and discuss what to talk about on the show.
Usually involves remembering a random errand (business meeting, store run or side project) and then doing it.
8 PM: Typing the notes for the show.
Includes organizing and summarizing versions of the research done earlier & considering the order for the show.
9 PM: Guest arrives & photo shoot commences.
Take 40-60 pictures to make sure the guest gets the best/most natural picture possible.
10 PM: Guest is ready to go on & recording starts:
Real time + show intro & audio troubles.
11:30 PM ish: Fausto edits the show, Marc makes a new page for the podcast to go on the website.
That beautiful page on the site (banner too) & that crisp audio don’t happen by themselves.
12 AM (Midnight): You’re starving, tired & want a break. I mean, you’ve been preparing for this show for 8 hours, it makes sense, right?
Well, how do you relax?
Go on Facebook?
You end up having messages from fans and friends.
Surf the net?
You end up seeing a news point you write down for tomorrow’s show notes.
Go take a nap?
It’s hard to work from home and not feel like something unfinished is lingering in the living room.
In the end, putting those nice links that take listeners to the news stories discussed on the show, tweeting fans back on Twitter & making some of the best-looking pictures of people (seriously, have you seen mine?) is what Marc and Fausto spend those prime hours I’m sleeping doing.
Plus, if everything went right, the audio file takes REAL TIME to export (1 ( 1/2) Hours).
So next time if you notice the tweet posted at 5am announcing the show of the day (or even notice it for the first time), just take a second to think how awesome it is that these fine gentlemen do this day in, day out for our enjoyment.
Sorry it’s over 300 words; I hope it was worth it. =v)
And thanks for all the fantastic comments & interactions with the episode I was on. It’s another reminder how incredible the Feast of Fun community is. =vD
