Sad news, Phyllis Diller, one of the world’s leading ladies of comedy died, she was 95.
Known for her outrageous comedy and hair, Phyllis Diller was a pioneer for female comedians in the way Blondie and Madonna were pioneers for women in music. At a time when stand-up comedy was mostly guys, Phyllis was among the first. Her routine tore into her husband and sex life, describing it as “bouncing on a trampoline.”
One of her classic jokes was poking fun at herself: “Would you believe that I once entered a beauty contest?” she said. “I must have been out of my mind. I not only came in last, I got 361 get-well cards.”
You were one of a kind, totally different.
