The Reader reports that Joe Laiacona, former Leather writer for Gay Chicago Magazine  may knock openly gay Deb Mel out of the race for the State Rep of the 40th district.

Mel  is the daughter of Political Boss Richard Mel and is sister-in-law to ex-gov Blago. Joe alleges that she’s not a registered voter at her current residence and she may have to exit the race. It’svery Chicago style politics to knock your opponent out of the race- Obama even did it back in the day when he ran.

Joe has been described as Ann Landers in leather and has published several books on BDSM under the name Jack Rinella.
