With the arrival of winter’s low, dark sky, communities around the world look to a miracle of light as a sign of rebirth and a source of hope. For over thousands of years people of various cultures have observed the Winter Solstice, the longest night, as a ritual of rebirth; celebrating the promise of new life and entrusting the protection of their sacredness to his or her own radiant humanity…

I think Christmas is the best time of the year! It has something magical and hypnotic. A Christmas market in every city, all the fabulous lights, gingerbread, Stollen and mulled wine for one month till December 25th. And then of course Christmas eve with the family, a big dinner followed by two quiet Christmas days with the family while all shops are closed.
