  1. Just one Senator? Is that it?

  2. A friend of mine was in the meeting with Nelson and he said that Nelson’s staff said “If it comes down to one vote, the Senator will likely vote yes.” That’s not a FOR SURE, but it means the concentrated pressure can be taken off him and aimed at the other five who have NOT committed. Bayh is a lame duck–he takes no risk voting for repeal. Brown is likely to be movable on this, as a moderate (after all, how many gay soldiers probably bought his Cosmopolitan nudy centerfold when he did that? That’s money in his pocket). Byrd has the grim reaper on speed dial, so this might be a nice cap on his legacy if he came on as a cosponsor for this legislation. Webb is also a big target. Ben Nelson also could be moved here. As it stands it looks like if ANY of these gentlemen decide they are definitely going our way on this vote, we will have a repeal of DADT this year.

Why dont you guys call a senator on the show guys? eh? Eh?

  4. I’d be happy to coach Marc and Fausto through a call with a Senator or Representative on this issue or the Employment Non-Discrimination Act! 馃檪

  5. Cam says:

For Byrd frankly, it would be a fitting way to end his career. He started out as a Klansman, and it would be nice if he ended up as somebody who, when the chips were down championed equality.
