Some people criticize bodybuilders for having “too many muscles” but in the case of Kevin Perod, he’s just about right! Kevin’s got heat. Besides his body, his Texas accent and adorable chin-dimple make his hotness […]

HOT. But what is with the tan? I never got that. Are they trying to look like bronze statues? Or is it meant to enhance their muscles?

    • I think the fake tan really does allow the muscularity of their bodies to be more pronounced, and gives the illusion that they are leaner or “cut.” But I personally think it looks a little crazy, and they’d get more milage from not wearing the shoe polish.

If judges awarded competitors who didn’t look freaky, then maybe we’d see this happening more often. But until that day comes, dying your skin is the way to win contests.

      • Blueboi says:

Hmm, that would make sense, although i kinda thought a darker brown/black would be better for that – too racist maybe? :p

One thing i don’t get though is, if they go to all that trouble, you’d think they’d at least crotch stuff a lil’

      • They do not need to do anything at all! I think Kevin looks pretty damn hot with chocolate sauce or plain. I’ll take some of that!

      • Steerpike says:

Under stage lights, definition vanishes unless you bronze or are naturally dark -skinned. That’s why if you look at Russian contests, the bronzed is crazy: those guys are really pale.

  2. RcktMan says:

I’m sorry but in the first video when he keeps saying “quarter turn to the right” I can’t help but giggle. 😉

    He is hot though!!!!

  3. Okrangler9 says:

This dude is just a God in my book—wouldnt you love to see him and Jesse Goddard make a couple!

  4. Rock Coalridge says:

He is really cute!!! But so hairless!!! If he had just a little hair, he would be perfect!

  5. Cute face but too much brawn.

  6. Rodney says:

definitely cute! but, i’ve always had a rule of thumb, if the guys arms are bigger than his legs… it’s out of proportion. …too much brawn.

  7. Mike Riggenbach says:

too this.. too that.. come on! he’s beautiful!

    • Yes, it takes an extraordinary amount of knowledge, work, time, and concentration to build your body up to anything, so always props to these muscle guys. (And to anyone including trans folks to, who spend as much effort to look what they consider to be fabulous.) Rock on!

  8. Barneysman says:

Kevin is outstanding and outstandingly hot. The body is superb – honed and gloriously proportioned and very elegant. One can only salute the dedication and hard work as well as the knowledge that makes this possible.
I like the videos but agree that the tan is a bit overdone.
Kevin is lucky to have such an advocate in Fausto !
Well, here’s another big fan who’ll be looking for news and views of his hero !

The FAKE TAN is a necessary evil. Under the bright lights on stage during the competition you don’t want to “wash out” because then you appear flat and there is no visible separation between the muscle groups and no definition within individual muscles (ripped and cut). Poor stage lighting will just make you a large silhouette.

Most people don’t complain about movie and TV stars that wear make-up so they look good on camera; it’s the same thing for bodybuilders on stage in front of the judges. Yes, in normal room lighting it looks cartoonish or like someone fell off of the circus train. Spray tanning has helped a lot of athletes to obtain a very even coat of color. Exfoliation is a must to avoid looking splotchy and we don’t want that crime on stage now do we?

As to STUFFING your competition posers, some guys use a liner, most don’t. Because of the range of motion of the legs, hips and lower torso in competition, any enhancement would be obvious and appear quite awkward. Some BBs use BIKINI BUTT GLUE to prevent riding up and an unintended thong configuration. Side tricep and side chest poses may cause a visible gap between the body and the top edge of the poser. Some of you may have already been that observant, I think. Some BBs have stripped off one poser to reveal an even SKIMPIER version, usually in a daring neon color, but that’s a personal preference and not allowed in some competitions. Yes, there are rules as to how small, sheer, fabric type and pattern your poser may be. One professional BB did pull out his country’s flag from within his posers after he won and proudly waved it around on stage. Okay, it was a VERY SMALL flag that had been rolled up, but still he gets mad props for the effort.

Many of the competition venues are AIR-CONDITIONED ICE COLD for the comfort of the audience and often the backstage pump-up room is hot. So from one extreme to the other, SHRINKAGE is a normal anatomical response, regardless of what your “supplements” may have done to your “size” over the years. Non-judged body parts do not effect your score, but the audience is free to take notice, yell, scream and (sometimes) applaud! Smart competitors know that a well placed smile at the end of a pose can exude an aire of confidence and melt panties, or so I’ve been told.

You may be familiar already with Paul Krueger’s Musclemania routine from 2005 on YouTube, so big it’s in TWO PARTS! “USAMuscle: Paul Krueger Musclemania routine”
(Did you notice the sparkles? I thought so!)

All bodybuilders shave down before a competition, it’s an acceptable practice to help apply the tanning products evenly and to give the judges an unobstructed view of the physque. Some competitors will host a shaving party so the job gets done faster. (Of course it itches like HELL when it grows back!)
